13. I just want to give some recognition to some local high school baseball players who are working hard this summer playing some showcase baseball as the SETX PROSPECTS 18U. This team has played in 2 wood bat tournaments at ULL in Lafayette and ULM in Monroe,Louisiana. The Prospects are playing this weekend in Lafayette again and come July in Houston at Rice,U of H, and San Jac and finish up at Texas A & M University. They have competed against some very good teams and hold a record of 3 wins/5 losses. I would like to note that almost ALL of these young men are also playing Mid County Babe Ruth games.   SETX PROSPECTS 18U  Andrew Swearingin-HF     Ryan Johnson-HF                     Skylar Finn-PNG                           Tanner Dorian-PNG                    Corbin Coy-PNG                           Logan Chipman-PNG                                                Chase Woods-PNG                                                       Braden Nevala-NED                                                                       Zack Friesz-NED                                                                           Colby Price-NED                                                                                    Korey Clark-NED                                                                       Austin Krautz-NED                                                                          Blake Pruett-BC                                                                                Blaine Huff-BC                                          Blake Permenter-OF
 14. This is a subject that I feel we should not dwell on to much...but to say not putting forth effort during conditioning would be very uncharacteristic of this paticular player. I'm not sure if there is some confusion with maybe another player. Yes, he is talanted, he is a sophmore, and he is a good kid...but as for knowing how he would adjust to Varsity pitching...that remains to be seen until next year. He lead the JV team in probally every aspect of the hitting category...only 4 k's all season. Robbins is the only person who knows why he did or did not call upon certain underclassmen.

He is not the biggest kid by far... batted clean up with 4 HR's.
Colby Price is his name, but Robbins didn't call him up for some reason..
That has to have some people scratching their heads...not sure about that decision?? He is a good kid that works hard on and off the field.

 17. Nederland JV beat Lumberton JV last night 11-1...Bordelon look sharp on the mound and everyone was hitting the ball! Price should be a tough kid for pitchers next year...he has a instinct for getting on base no matter what...this kid can hit. I cannot wait to see what Varsity will look like come next year with this group of Soph's moving on up!
 18. The Price kid has grown since his Freshman year. He has given up football and basketball so that he can concentrate strictly on baseball. He is a natural in the outfield but can play any position. He definitely will get some looks come his junior/senior year.
 19. I did not expect to have my comment, which agreed with your post, taken in and turned upside down and inside out! I was only referring to the fact that some of the starting line-up has 2-3 OTHER PLAYERS WHO PITCH. I know this group of freshman has 4 players who can pitch and they start every game playing other positions...these young men have not played little league in years! I understand that NED usually has a #1 and #2 starter but as we saw this last game, another player finally got a little action on the mound. By the way, NO whiney parent here...so just relax!
 20. I agree with ya...this Soph team has a lot of depth at pitching and some of the regular starters are not seeing much action with the pitching??
