Imma go ahead and go with bmt over ned...let them go to playoffs please so we dont have another week.....please bmt win that game
Are you seriously saying that?  Ask yourself a question...is your kid playing because he wants to play.  Or is he playing because you never had the opportunity (or abilty) to play and your living through him, and since the season is not so good for you, you want him to stop? It's like saying to your kid..."I hope ya'll lose, because us daddy's aren't happy with the season". Get over yourself!!

 3.
Why is it wen an organization is looking for volunteer coaches, there are very few, yet when the season starts, everyone is a professional?  You ever wonder why kids go without coaches or coaches who might not be the "best"?  People like you that didn't want to do it.  People that want to be sideline coaches but not take the responsibility to accept the losses and the consequences of looking kids in the face and accepting them.  It's great to win, it's stinks to lose, but a coach is there to do the best he (or she) can.  Everyone is a hero from the sidelines, after the play is run, after the game is finished, because they would have done it "differently" even if the plays run were exactly the ones that they would have done in the same situation.  You wanna drive the train?  Jump on when it gets going out of the station, and be the official coach. I don't know Mr. Sonnier, but if he coached before, he should know what it feels like to have people you don't know bad mouthing you.  The comments posted makes it seem like he wanted to be a part of the team, but for reasons unknown (work, other time commitments, etc.) couldn't.  The coach in place may have felt threatened, because, as you can see by the comments here, once one cook gets his spoon in the soup, everyone does.  What that leads to is a team confused as all get out because there are too many chiefs and not enough indians (sorry, Ned, it was the only comparison I could come up with).  I was lucky because, though I was a new transplant to the area, and had a limited knowledge of football, I had parents that supported me, even if at times, my decisions SUCKED.  They had the kids recognizing who was the coach, and a couple of them were college scholarship ball players themselves...they could have taught me a whole lot...but they didn't.  They let me call the plays, they let their kids respect me, and those same kids still call me "coach".  Thanks especially to the Franks, Thomas', Snoddy, Veitch, Edwards', Green, Hill, and Bevil families, among so many others...they made being a complete and utter rookie fun, and the respect they had for any kid and coach was phenomonal... I feel for the whole team, and any team in this situation...because no one has any humility, humility enough to step up and find a solution instead of doing more complaining... Hector M. 5.
Parent: Coach, Coach, I have a defense that we should be running Me: What defense? Parent: It’s the Zero defense Coach! Me: What is it called? Parent: Zero! Me: I have never heard of that defense  ;D Parent: Yea Coach It’s called the Zero because it gives up ZERO points Me: Oh Okay, Draw it up for me Parent: Coach it looks like this Me: That’s a 6-2 wide defense Parent: Ya coach this is what we should be running. No team could score on us if we ran it Me: Do you know anything about football? Watch the game and tell me what defense we run. We do run a 6-2 D Parent: It does not look the same as the one I seen on TV Me: Lol- Leave the coaching to me and we will be just fine
Great post.  You know, when I grew up, the coach was ALWAYS right.  It had something to do with that, uhm, respect thing.  What does it show when we teach kids if they don't like what the coach is doing, to change it themselves.  I guess they'll show up at school now and tell the teacher they don't like how they're teaching.
 6. Ned Black - 18 Vidor Black 19 In overtime. Great game on both sides. Boys fought hard all game.

 8. I can't wait until some of these kids who were the "recipient" of daddy-ball in LL get up to the high school level and can't figure out why on earth they're sitting the bench since they started their whole lives.
 9.
I believe the kids should vote for the all-stars! It would be way more fair! IMO
.. And the coaches and board members....  ;D
 10. I think you misunderstood me.  I agree with everything you said, its just frustrating.  all theyre doing is hurting the kids for their own purposes
 11. You know, I've been part of NLL in some form or fashion for the past 8 years.  I've got to say, with all honesty, these last two years have been the worst in the way of management.  I personally think the guys (and girls) running it are ridiculous.  I've never seen more daddy-ball, politics, petty differences, dis-organization, and mis-management in all my years involved.  I'm not naive; politics and daddy-ball has been around since I played in NNLL long ago, but never to this extent.  These guys running it (not all of them) have made the league into everything BUT for the kids.  Half of them only play to see if their kid makes all-stars.  They could care less if the guys coaching do it for the kids or for themselves, actually coach, actually have ever played baseball, or actually even want to win. Don't get me wrong, there are some good guys on the Board, but "some" is not enough. If people wonder why NLL is losing kids, there it is.
