Both are still working their way to a state championship and that says it all.

I think we all need a better sense of humor.....without SC and smokin on this board, what would we have to talk about........???

Georgetown is no slouch. SC has their hands full in the 2nd half.  Don't think SC will just quit. 

GT has a tremendous team.  Watched a few videos on them.  Well coached, tons of seniors, solid on both sides of the ball. GT will be tough, no matter who they play.  T/O could cost this game, if SC can match their scoring.  Will be interested to see how halftime adjustments are made for both teams.

SC prepared this week for Georgetown, and anyone posting on here otherwise and claims "to know" is just inflated in their own minds, that really goes for any team and fan on here. SC could hang in a football game with any team on any day, and that goes for any team on any given day.

[/quote] SC QB is remarkable.  He's only a junior, which means that they will get him back next season.  Not sure how many other starters will be return for SC on both sides of ball, could be interesting.

Pearland has a very effective offense. QB is nifty and can run, as well as pass effectively while rolling out and can throw it down field when given time to set up.  Nice RB as well for Dawson. Nederland's best defense next week is the Offense.  Keep PD off the field and ball control.  NED defense always does their job.  Next week, special teams, turnovers and control is the path to victory.  PD is good but I believe Nederland will be better.  Team effort and ability to overcome is what will tip this game in NED's favor. Go Dogs!!!!!!

I have said it all season regarding PNG defense issues.  IMO, it is a coaching issue more than the talent pool for this issue. Think this PNG football group could have been more competitive during this season and I guarantee these same athletes will be competing for district title in baseball. It doesn't matter if you score 50 points, if your opponent scores 56.  Defense must be addressed for PNG to be truly successful again. Sliding into the playoffs next season and one and done is not really what PNG football would consider success. PNG has great tradition and a football legacy and it's unfortunate that these athletes are only getting partial preparation for 4A football in SE Texas.  This hasn't been the first team to face issues and won't be the last.  And a stronger, more competitive PNG makes us all better.
