that is what I'm talking about! You have ALL that talent spilling over the sides of the football field and you don't use it??? Chew on this...I live in San Antonio..I've been to Judson and Steele games this year (relatives) and Memorial has more, speed, talent than BOTH of these schools! If I was coaching them, WOS would be our undershirts at practice because we would look just like them, but just with more of it...COULD YOU IMAGINE THAT JUGGERNAUT!!!??? hey wait a minute...you got me talking about memorial...haha I see what you did there.

I will say this though...with all the talent that memorial there is NO WAY they shouldn't go undefeated going into the playoffs EVERY YEAR! What I don''t understand, is there too much pride in the staff at memorial that they won't pick WOS staff's brain about coaching, offseason prep, player development, etc..? If I had that talent, my program would be modeled after the areas most successful program. That's almost a no brainer. It happens all over that state in other programs, just wondering if there is something going on there. To be honest with all that athleticism roaming the halls at memorial, you put WOS staff there and they have 2 state titles...at least!

And I hope they do! I have always rooted for setx teams come playoff time. Get tired of hearing about Dallas area or the centex region.

Then don't...been following this board for 8 years. Never really wanted to post..hence the 18 post. I played football at WOS...spanked Lincoln and TJ more than once. I've gone through "the program". And I know PLENTY about SETX football.

Answer to your questions 1. Title of the thread...was never about PAM chest thumpers. 2. Haven't heard PAM say a thing until thy dropped to 5A. 3. I started the thread to get PNG fans perspective, not to get highlight reels of guys in the 8th grade. Never asked about 6A...PAM has plenty of season left to prove me and everyone else wrong. STATE BOUND!!

the thread wasn't about PAM...the thread was a comparison for PNG fans. NO..PAM could not beat WOS this year. And until they do something in 5A you PAM fans need to keep your mouth shut. You beat PNG...props. You're the big bad boy on the block...you did what you were supposed to do...THAT'S IT! So much swag from a school that has done absolutley NOTHING! Beat your chest AFTER you've made it past the second round of the playoffs...cheers.

Yeah..buuuuttttt.....if PNG doesn't have the miscue you guys don't win by 5 either. And I have NEVER heard of a team being relaxed in a 33-14 game. Who gives up 2 TDS like that because the defense was chilling?? LOL. To your credit though WOS did the same thing with Kennedale 44-7 ended up being 44-21. And what's really changed? They put TJ and Lincoln together and now they are a powerhouse? WOS never had problems with either of those schools. Remember you can only put 11 of those guys on the field at once. That powerhouse 6A talent only beat PNG BY 5. As for speed...seen both play...you guys cancel each other out on that.

Just for kicks and giggles...calpreps has WOS 21 Cedar Park 17 in a hypothetical matchup FYI...it also had the WOS/Nederland game 42-6...of course hypothetical

After playing Memorial...how do the players feel about WOS compared to Memorial? How do the fans feel about the comparison as well? Watching it on TV hey commentators said the only blemish PNG has was playing WOS. Just wanted opinions from the PNG crowd.

That is interesting....we had a defensive lineman from WOS that transferred and played for Westbrook (1991). Couldn't play at WOS but became a beast and went to the NFL through Westbrook.

Played at WOS but suiting up for PNG or Jasper would have been interesting

Question...Those of you that have played football in SETX...besides the school you played for, what other school would you suit up for if you could go back in time for one game or season? What school did you ever wonder what it was like to play for?

By the way, Newton would run through 90% of San Antonio schools as well with the exception, of Steele and Judson. After those two schools in this area... the talent drops WAY off. Some of these schools are down right embarassing

Cute...look this message board is for fun and analysis. It is fun to speculate and that's all it is. I seriously doubt the players are logging in to setxsports.com and reading this between classes. The sarcasm is deep and when someone makes a simple statement about a conversation that a former player from WOS and Judson had it doesn't need to be scrutinized because you don't believe it took place or don't agree with it. The statement wasn't made for you to agree with. I was just relaying what HE said. He's been to a few WOS practices and has a few state rings to justify his statement in 5A (1990's). Just to clarify he said that Judson would have a hard time...not lose. The speed difference from the San Antonio/ Valley area is night and day with SETX. Again this is just fun speculation..didn't say WOS were world beaters by any stretch. They are pretty good this year, but I just don't think they've played anyone that decent yet to be honest. This could be fools gold...LCM, Nederland, Bridge City, and Silsbee..ranked by maxpreps in the state 360, 425, 254, 274 respectfully. So honestly they've played no one. I'd be surprised if they DIDN'T shut these people out defensively. WOS state rankings regardless of classification #17 ahead of Aledo, Cedar Park, Southlake Carroll, Klein Collins, Denton Guyer, Richmond Foster, Highland Park, Lonestar Does it mean they would win these games heck no...but it shows you the respect they are getting.

new to posting but not new to following. I hear all the talk about what-if's...wos played this team or that team. I played at WOS and I can tell you that program can match almost athlete to athlete with any school. Would they win 5a D1 or D2..we'll never know. But a short analysis..My cousin was an all-state corner for Converse Judson and has 3 state titles. He actually said and I quote.."Judson would not want to play WOS...we don't do well with teams with that much speed and athletes." I said what the hell are you talking about?? He said, "we only have to play 2 tough games to get to state. We play 4 teams from the valley and 1 Houston team and then we're at state. If we had to come out of Houston we would have no titles." I even told him he'd have a hard time starting at WOS...AND HE WAS ALL-STATE...WITH 3 STATE TITLE RINGS!! What does that mean? It simply states that as good as some of these teams are, regardless of classification (within reason) the speed and athletes don't change that much. Wrap your head around this..PNG is ranked 15th in the latest poll with some having them in the top 10. WOS is at minimum 5 spots better than PNG. Does it mean they would win a 5A title..no, but it doesn't mean they couldn't. I live in San Antonio and a LOT of people hold WOS in VERY high regard with any team regardless of classification, and I'm talking coaches opinions here.
