  1. I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. - Michael Jordan Look on the bright side. The bulls-eye has been lifted off of each of your jerseys and you know what they say about paybacks. You'll get your chance at them again.

  3. Warren is a 2A team genius. If your gonna talk about schools in SETX at least know something about them instead of just bashing teams based on their size.
  4. They have knocked off Tarkington twice and Warren once. Both very good teams that should make the playoffs in their district. Also Liberty twice who will probably be fighting with Tarkington for one of those playoff spots. Which means if you stick West Hardin (1A) in a 2A or 3A district they still make the playoffs.
  5. Not making the playoffs when you are a 1A school stuck in a district with Kountze, East Chambers, and Newton with 4 Jr's and a Freshmen as your starters??? Tell me who would?
  6. Maybe WH shouldn't go ahead of HJ but to say they only have two solid players is crazy. Letsinger and Copeland are gonna carry that team, but don't count out Zach Simmons and Jared Tomlinson to be right behind them on any given night. Simmons pulled off 20 points in the win over Goodrich and Tomlinson ate up HD a couple of nights ago with 22 points and 14 boards. These are only two of the many great games they have contributed to this year. When you’re a 1A school you can’t go any lower to play schools smaller than you. Everyone you play is the same size or bigger than you. West Hardin has played the 2A’s and 3A’s and have come away with a win every time.
  7. West Hardin 76 Hull-Daisetta 60 WH: Brandon Letsinger 29 HD: Jordan Godwin 16
  8. West Hardin 47 Spurger 46 Tyler Copeland with 26 points
  9. Did the Spurger Tourney start late? Scores are coming in pretty slow for the championship game to be starting at 6:00 pm
  10. Demolish is a very strong word. The Kountze team this year is about as good as they were last year. The only thing they really gained was depth on the bench. West Hardin on the other hand has 4 starters back that have all improved since last year with Letsinger at the point guard position. All players are now a year older and you can tell the confidence in their game is much higher than it was when they were JR’s. Despite what texasbasketballfan thinks, I would say this would be an awesome game. Too bad they didn’t meet in a tourney along the way.
  11. Yeah, Lost by 9 to Deweyville to open district. In a district with Kountze and East Chambers that one loss to Deweyville could be the death of your playoff hopes. I haven't seen them play this year but i'm gonna go with squeezing in with 3rd or going as far as the last district game. They have a pretty good record. Have they played anybody worth mentioning this year?
  12. Actually West Hardin was called for about 4 more fouls than Spurger. Officiating was still bad both ways. One ref made all the calls while the other two just watched and enjoyed the game. They need to let the post play a little more physical when down low trying to get position. Thats how Whittaker plays and the only way to guard that is to be physical yourself as a defender.
  13. They can but it will not be easy. They will most likely face Warren in the Spurger tournament after Christmas and if they win play Spurger again in the championship. After that they will face Spurger once again in Spurger and Big Sandy twice. You also have to take into consideration that playing Hull Daisetta away will not be an easy game. I was very impressed with Spurger tonight though. #44 for them kept the game close for them. Soon as he sat in the 4th West Hardin took about a 10 point lead and never looked back. You can tell Spurger is very well coached.
  14. I say West Hardin by at least 20 with a healthy Letsinger or not. If Letsinger doesn't play then Spurger still has to stop Tyler Copeland who has been a beast in the past 3 games. 18 points and 9 boards at Tarkington a few days ago, 26 pts. and 9 boards against Kirbyville, and then 24 pts. And 12 boards against Burkeville. The kid might be a sophomore but he will carry this team to a victory tomorrow if Letsinger doesn’t play.
  15. Houston has been waiting for that kind of intensity from him since they drafted him. Its about time.
  16. West Hardin knocked off Tarkington by about 10. Not sure of the score. Game just ended though.
  17. Thats actually the 4th 3A team West Hardin has knocked off in 5 games against them this year. They beat Liberty twice, Tarkington, Shepherd, and Kirbyville. The Oilers will play Tarkington again on Tuesday in Tarkington. It should be a really good game. Last time they met West Hardin won by 11 points and at halftime it was only a 1 or 2 point game. Playing in T-town should make it a pretty dead even game. Whoever wants it more is gonna win it.
  18. Good job Brandon. Keep it up. With that win over Goodrich, West Hardin breaks into the TABC top 20 at #19.
  19. Last undefeated team in SETX. Kirbyville Friday should be a pretty good game but i'll bet the Oilers come out on top by double digits.
  20. Brandon Letsinger from West Hardin has got to be mentioned. He lead his team to a 1st place finish at the Goodrich Tournament knocking off the #2 team in class 1A on their own floor. During two of this weeks games he sat most of the second half because of leads of more than 30 points, otherwise stats would have been even better. Burkeville (77-24) 23 pts, 9 asts, & 9 stls (sat majority of second half) Liberty (66-55) 31 points & 11 rebounds Shepherd (69-40) 10 pts 9 rebs & 9 asts (sat majority of second half) Goodrich (69-65) 26 pts, 9 stls, & 9 rebounds
  21. Its gonna all depend on how long the starters play. Last game they sat for a lot of the second half and still won 73-24. It will at least be 35. 10-0 should already be marked as the Oilers record.
  22. Man! My 6 and a half hour round trip drive was worth it. Officiating was BAD. Every time the Oilers would go up by 10 or so the refs would bring Goodrich back to within 2. A 3 second call was not made on Goodrich the whole night and their 2 twins stayed in the paint and never left it. That’s one reason the rebounding on the defensive end was such a problem for the Oilers. All around though the guys looked great. TABC needs to show the Oilers some love now and get them in the top 20.
  23. West Hardin won by like 29 points. Not sure the final but it was a pretty easy win for the Oilers
  24. Coach Fuller told me it was at 7:30 through e-mail this morning.
