There is no doubt in my mind that if we "HJ" did not beat silsbee in regionals than they would have been state champs this year instead of us, I think it is great to have the top two teams in the state in our District.

I know everyone is ready for next year as I, but I'm sure none of you are prophets and the fact is we have three great teams in our district next year maybe even four and it is a toss up on who will win, just depends on off season work ethic, so work hard and see if you can knock HJ down next year.

I was impressed that when I got to the state championship game and bought a program, HJ still holds a lot of the records for the state, I think they have a great basketball program and always have.

One of my top 5 Baseball games ever...Two awsome squads, I was proud of both of them. They both played with class. McDonald had a great game, Keep your heads up Tigers you have nothing to be ashamed about you have represented your school well all year. Wow what a comment St4life, have you ever thought about maybe coaching with all of that insight you have, pleez Donahoe was on the last two playoff teams the 2 years before this one, if all it took was donahoe why didn't we when state the previous years. they have a lot of great players. for you to say it was just a one man show is silly....sally

Great post HJ hawk 60. All of these kids are deserving. I'm proud of all of them. But like lazeek I'm a HJ fan so I can't help but pull for HJ kids unless I see soeone truely "my Opinion" Better, This year I didn't see it.

Isn't this a basketball page.....They didn't play well enough to make them in football, Unlike most of these schools HJ basketball team doesn't play football there was only 2 football players on the team. therefore they play with the same team all of the time. Thats one reason why they are so good. The other is they just have great athletes and great spirit.

I was there, Netherly had a great game ( best i have seen from him all year ) he made a lot of free throws toward the end of the game, man I have to agree the game would have been a lot shorter if we weren't 1 for 7 from the freethrow line with under thirty seconds left in the game. Donahoe played great I wasn't counting but I didnt see him miss but three shots all night. I think he shot for more than fiftey percent from behind the arc. He probably had more assist than anyone but he has always been a great team player. CJ Busby Played a great game as well he really impressed me. He can shoot the three ball very well he just didn't get many looks, looks like 3A and 2A took the game over.
