  1. if rumor  heard at track meet today is true, a certain Offensive line coach that was the 9th grade coach for a school whose varsity has made it to the Drum, will fit right in with UOS.
  2. nothing was organized by coaches, kids were given individual workout books when they attended camp, chose to follow the individual workouts, as the coach would like them to.
  3. Thats why open gym shud not be a free for all, same as summer workouts, we attended Texas Longhorn team camp a few years back and received a very handy individual workout book, I have had kids follow this before game play is allowed and have had good luck with it.
  4. well if school is out at 3:30 and they can get in they gym til 5:30, thats an adequate amount of time.
  5. Juat wondering is there a time limit for open gym after school and on weekends where the true gym-rat can develop said skills?
  6. how do they deal with kids that do both? On Lifting Weights...... 4 Days a week lifting – off season They test body fat VERY IMPORTANT is the weight program “One of the most important thing is to be stronger than the other guy” I love practice and love to play, if you don’t you are probably not going to get better. To be a better player you must get stronger. We lift year round. We chart the players on the weights. Bench, reps, lungs etc. Many people are keeping the kids accountable. I would make less money and pay the weight coach to have a better weight program. the above  is from Don Meyer
  7. I was asking when is athletic period? if 9th grade ath. is 1st period there is plenty of time for recovery even if it is right before lunch there is time, I dont agree with varsity but the others are ok.
  8. Thats what I was asking, I heard the lifting only happens 20 minute during the period the rest of the period is then given to the coach, and also soreness should not be a factor after you get in shape, so i would quit fighting it and get on the wagon with the rest of the team and go get after it
  9. how is the UOS set up, they dont go in the gym until after school? even on games days? or is athletics last period with practice immediately after afterschool?
  10. KEMBA....... what he his helped his team do since the start of the Big East tourney is amazing!
  11. Sounds to me like he will need alot of patience and a thick skin if this board is even close to what real life at HF is to be like during bball season.
