1. Wanted to send a congrats out to the Warriors for their win.  We also want to express our sincere gratitude for the concern and words of encouragement shown to us by Warren players as well as their parents. Very classy team! We are very proud of our Colby and we look forward to seeing him back on that Kountze mound and at Lamar! He is doing very well today!  Again, congrats to Warren and thank you for your kindness!  - Colby Price's parents
2.
They didn't throw Price because if Buna beats them with their best stuff on the mound, Kountze wont have a leg to stand on. Since we won last night, now they can say, "Oh, we didnt throw Price. It would have been wayyyy different." No different than any other year Lions. Alot more smack talk from Warren and Kountze fans and two more L's to add to both your columns after we played yall this week. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
::) I honestly don't think anyone from Kountze is thinking that.  In fact, no one from Kountze has mentioned Price on here.  But…since you mentioned it...I do recall us beating you last year with Price on the mound!  ;D ;D I'm sure every team is going to face a few tough losses this year in this district; even Buna!  Listen, I will be the first to say that Buna is the team to beat!  I have no problem giving credit where it is due, but, you have to admit that it was a good game.  Win or lose, it's always fun and exciting to play you guys and I look forward to every match up.  We'll see you next round…and who knows, maybe Price will get his shot!  But even if he is on the mound, we would never be arrogant enough to say that it will be a for sure win…he is obviously talented, but, he isn't, nor has he ever been the TEAM! Best of luck to both teams!!
3.
Opions are like but holes, everybody has one, and so here's mine.  Warren does not have any superstars, but they do have a solid little team and will be a top contender for the district title.  The Williams kid from Hardin is a very good pitcher, and one of the best.  However I personally would not say he is the best.  By the way, is he supposed to be signing with anyone?  Deweyville's pitcher is just as good as the rest, kudos to him.  As far as the Price kid from Kountze, please do not take anything from him or blow him up to be a major league player.  However, I assure you, that he is one of the top all around players in the entire district, and contends to be the top pitcher in the district.  And right along side him as one of the top all around players and all around top pitchers in this district is the Walden kid from Buna, last year Walden played the season injured, he had a slap tear in his shoulder that happened in the Lumberton tourney, however he still finished the season strong.  By the way, the Walden kid can stroke the ball.  Buna also boast the Clark kid, and even though he broke his arm, he will be one of the top pitchers in th district.  Buna, should still be the team to beat!  And let's not forget about little Caleb Lavergne, from East Chambers, he should be EC's go to guy, Lavergne did a good job last year, however was plagued with an injury to his throwing arm.  As far as Anuhauc goes, I believe they lost their big boys, but with the coach they have, I'm sure something good will come out of there.  I personally wish all these kids success on the diamond this year, I love to watch good baseball and quality pitching.  If I was a coach, I would love to have ever pitcher mentioned on here, on my team.  Good luck guys.
Well said!  ALL of these kids are talented and a joy to watch.  They made the season very exciting last year and I'm looking forward to another good one.  There is no point in tearing one player down in order to try to build another up.  There is enough room for them all.  :)  I too, wish all of them the best and hope they have injury free seasons and play to their best potential.  Wouldn't that make for an interesting season?  Best post I've read since I've been on here, aTm_1989.
4. Congrats to Colby Price on signing with Lamar!  The hard work has paid off.
5. Kountze came back and won the best 3 out of 5.  The Lionettes will also be playing in the Evadale tournament championship today, against Buna (I'm almost certain), at 2:00.
6. I've heard good things about this guy!  Looking forward to seeing what he does with our program.  There really is some good talent in Kountze right now.
7. Congrats to the Pirates on their win.  It was a great game to watch.  Howell did a great job.  Price, you did your job very well last night!  Keep your head up and get back in the battle.
8. Not sure.  Like I said, it may not have been a factor.  He just didn't look like himself though.  He could have just been having a bad outing.  Happens sometimes.
9. Warren just simply beat Kountze on every level. Our boys didn't show up for this one. So, congrats to Warren, you guys really did look good!!  Classy team.  As for Price, definitely not his best outing. He didn't look like himself.  He strained his back in Anahuac and was still nursing that up to the day of the game.  Not sure if that came into play.  Either way, one bad outting doesn't undo his year or his ability.  Keep your head up kid, you're not done...57 K's in 5 five games, doesn't happen for those who have nothing to bring to the table.  Everyone has a bad day on the mound once in a while.  ;)
10. After a weather delay, Kountze takes the win in an extra inning!
11. Well, I can't speak for the others, but I know the story on Colby Price (Holzapfel is his legal name, he just goes by his stepdad's name).  This summer and fall, he started playing for a team in Katy, where he was doing velocity training.  He was gunned at a couple of different tournaments by scouts at 87-88.  (Yes, probably with a Jugs) So that is where the rumor got started that he throws in the mid 80's.  When he started playing highschool ball again, his velocity has dropped some from where it was this fall.  He's already bringing it back up.  He looked a little better Friday against Anahuac, but still has a way to go.  Someone is coming in a few weeks to gun him, so we'll have something a little more official in few weeks to either squelch or confirm the rumors!  ;)  Good luck to all the above mentioned kids, they are ALL keepin it interesting this year!
12. I think so too.  In the last few games he pitched, he looked really good.  I think this will be a real tough match-up.  Kountze has to get their bats going though to pull this one off.  That's what cost them the Anahuac game.
13. Not the Price kid.  They have another lefty named Hoke.
14. Congrats Kountze!  You boys are playing ball! Great job on the mound and with the stick Hoke!  Now, go get Anahuac!!
15. I'm looking back at the Buna/Kountze predictions thread, and this is all looking like a very familiar conversation.  ;)  Who knows how the next one will turn out, but I know Price brings it every time.  3 games, 3 W's, and 40 K's, with 2 HR's.  Both, Clark and Price, are very talented and I wouldn't be arrogant enough to say for certain how any match-up between those two will turn out!  It will be another fun game for sure.  I wish both boys good luck!!  I hope they both have a future past high school because they've evidently both worked hard. (Same to the lefty from Hardin)  No need to tear one down to try and make another one look good…just let them match up, enjoy the show, and know that whatever the outcome, they are both talented and blessed!!  :)
16. Price kid pitched great!  Kept his composure.  Great game to watch!!  Walden pitched a great game as well.  Buna is always a tough team to beat and will bounce back.  Looking forward to the next match-up between these two teams.  I'm sure it will be another tough battle.
17. Congrats Kountze for the win and to the Price kid…16 K's against anybody is a feat!!  And as for Chester, they will do fine this year!  Congrats to the Freshman that hit a HR in his first game!
18. Don't know alot about the Mitchell kid from Anahuac, but if he is as good as they say, I think his team will give him a good shot by getting them in the top 3.  I still agree with some of the others that Colby, the lefty from Kountze also has a good shot if they make it to the top 3.  The kid didn't play for Kountze last year, and he didn't play summer league for Kountze last year either.  He played summer and fall for some team down in Katy and came back 6'4", sitting at 86, with some nasty stuff.  So nobody has seen this kid for nearly 2 years until now.  He may pull it off.
