  1. I don't think there was a tie.  Hebert beat everyone BAD!!!!  LC-M and Jasper both beat Silsbee.  It was the last game of the year and the winner was in.  Jasper played FB Willowridge in the first round.  The backs for Jasper were Reggie Davis and Tony Allen....woof
  2. Heck yeah....track coaching is a piece of cake....you don't have to know anything....everyone knows how to come out of the blocks, "jump" a hurdle, develop a workout that trains the kids for their race without overtraining them, how to pass a baton in 3 different relays, how to get kids to show up to RUN!!!!!, anyone can do it....why don't you come out and coach them?  I am sure they will turn all the kids over to you....
  3. Or here is a better idea....why don't you volunteer to coach the team.....go spend hours at the field house watching tape and learning the difference between cover 2 and cover 3 (since I am sure you have no idea)....learn how to tell the FS what his key is vs. empty in a spin coverage, or when 2 is out, look for 1 in....or waht the QB read is on box high when the defense rolls from 2 high to single high...Yeah, those kids will be ready to play in the fall.
  4. Wrong....It is illegal for coaches at a school to coach anything sport specific to their athletes in the summer except in camps.  A COACH CANNOT COACH HIS KIDS IN 7v7 at any time.  Now, that being said, it happens all the time.  Most times, coaches have a mutual agreement so to say.....As far as you getting on here and saying you witnessed it, give me a break.  You are just trying to stir things up.  If you do not like it, go to the coach in charge and tell them if he doesn't stop, you will turn him in to UIL.
  5. 1983 LC-M v. Jasper @ LC-M.....Homer Rhoades takes a screen to the house to put LC-M up 14-13.  Jasper's ball with under 2:00 on the clock, works it to the -40 then throws a prayer up, knocked down at the 8 by Homer Rhoades, the hankie comes out....PI on Homer.  Jasper lines up and toe punches the kick through for the win as time expires.  Sickening.  Hebert ran through the district that year and Jasper and LC-M were playing for 2nd place and the playoffs.  LC-M beat French that year.  WO-S and Silsbee also lost to the Bears.  Great Season.
  6. The selections are random.  It is against state law, not education law, to hand pick testers.  If you have an administrator willing to risk his career then that is his problem.  I agree, there may be some that contribute to a flawed system but overall, you get a good selection and even though I am sure more than 1 athlete in the state uses steroids, I still be it is less than 1%.  I can assure you that none of ours use them.  I can look at them and tell.
  7. C'mon Jag.....have you ever seen how those tests are handled.  Would be very hard to "rig" the test and I d not know many coaches willing to put their careers on the line for that.  If you go back to when this all started and see the root of the push, you will understand how rediculous it was for this to ever be mandated.  On REPUBLICAN congressman's cause because he blamed the school for his son's steroid use and eventual suicide.  He was on a witch hunt and now is no longer in congress.
  8. Congrats to the UT faithful.  You got a great one.  My source is dumfounded, or just dumb...lol....Oh well, so much for the Ags.
  9. Sorry Jag.....UT is no longer in the picture.....I may be completely wrong and my source may have no clue, but I think he knows pretty well what will happen.
  10. I have it on pretty good authority that the horns are out of it......Aggies or Frogs?  Which one will it be?  i am guessing the AGs get him....just sayin
  11. I can assure you, the discipline did not leave Palestine when he left.  Coach T started the ball rolling at PHS in the right direction and we were able to pick it up.  Of course AD helped a lot in that effort.  Even though I am an LC-M alum, I have always respected and wished the best for the Mustangs and do in this situation as well.  A great molder of young men has left and there are plenty on the staff that can do what needs to be done.  Most think of Coach T as their coaching mentor.  To me, it is a no-brainer but, I am not making this decision.
