  1. What does 2A have to do with this? It was not long ago Newton was 3A. Orangefield is the smallest enrollment in our district. You are a "Jack" All right. I can promise you Newton will be fine and go deep in the playoffs. True that....still the same old Newton team that was one of the smallest 3A teams in the state. They lost a few more kids and dropped classification but still basically the same "player wise" for the last 30 years. Congrats to OF, I have not seen you but sounds good.
  2. dont see newton going all the way. even if they somehow manage to win against franklin. The BIG BAD ROADBLOCK know as dfield stops them short Well, I hope you are wrong kevnasty. You probably are wrong.....let me explain how I came to that conclusion. #1 your email in "thumpnuts" or something like that lol. Cant be very much in the know if you go by that, even if it is just an email addy #2 You are from Dfield and probably doing more wishful thinking than educating us ignorant fans in Southeast Texas. #3 Your previous post (which I will paste in below) predicted Arp would walk on Kville and "introduce them to smashmouth football." Kirbyville showed you that your definition of smashmouth football more closely resembled a powder puff approach. Kville is no stranger to smashmouth football this season and delivered a quick lesson regarding SETexas style of play....Newton is no different. I remember Newton playing Daingerfield in 1998 for the state title. Newton won 21-0. I know Daingerfield is a perrenial power and you wont hear me ignorantly claiming my Eagles will roll over them....I look forward to potentially playing Dfield but we both have an opponent to defeat this week. The title will probably belong to either Newton or Daingerfield when the season is over......Kirbyville looks poised to win out too.
  3. I see...Kville99 it appears you were a junior on the Wildcat team that lost 55-0 to the eventual 3A state champion Eagles...correct? I know how ludicrous it would be to suggest, perhaps......that did not leave a bad taste in your mouth?
  4. Holy Crap! Its hard to imagine this guy has a tat! PS I have seen better PS in a PS
  5. Hold on a dang minute... Let me attempt to slow this down a little. Just because an East Chambers & a Kirbyville fan think Barbay is being cocky and/or arogant....lets not write off the community and players as deserving a lesson. I seriously doubt that most people that read these boards or have an opinion about Newton and its football program know much, if anything, about Newton football. Lets not place ourselves on the sidelines of title games nor explain to all how we know so much about something that so few actual can speak to. If the EC fan does not have anything left for Newton.....fine by me. Sounds like sour grapes. Kirbyville fans, I hope you do win this year. I am a Newton fan but like Barbay said....ya'll have not beaten us in 20 years? If you guys win it would be the highlight of Kirbyville football for the past 30 years. It would not keep the Eagles from the playoffs and give you guys as much joy as when we occassionally win a state title. When a Newton fan wants to know how to toot on a flute and get a state ribbon....they can stop in and visit you Kirbyville folks on the way to Beaumont. When Kirbyville wants to win a 2A district they can travel north to Newton like they will this year. Now leave the community and players character alone....its a football game.
  6. For what it is worth..... I saw a Newton team play terrible and a Diboll team that was undersized and slow. I cant recall seeing such indecisiveness and confusion on the refs part. Both Diboll and Newton will have to play much better than what I observed to compete in the playoffs. Ironically the ref staff will have to improve a great deal before being allowed to ref a playoff game.
  7. I have not seen either of them play, but I am interested in an objective view from someone who has seen them both play. Has anyone seen both of them play and has no preference for either team or either district? If so, how do they match up? I may be asking the impossible ???
  8. That goes to show you how hard it is to win a championship. WOS or Kirbyville could have won it all. Several area teams had the talent but you must have sprinkle of luck too.
  9. .com takes you to a horrific site......I think .org is what you were looking for. [Hidden Content]
  10. Mclane and Wade on Tejada... "We had not had any prior knowledge," McLane said. "It surprised us, but we felt when we made the trade that Tejada would be a significant help to the Houston Astros, with his playing ability and his leadership. We're glad to have him." Said general manager Ed Wade: "I'm happy that he's on our club. We're going to put a club on the field that's clean, follows the rules on and off the field, respects the game, and we're going to follow guidelines. We're very happy he's on our club." [Hidden Content] Not embarassed... ;D
  11. I agree, I hate to see Qualls go but he I did not envision him as a full time closer. He may prove me wrong but he is a good setup guy, not a closer for a contending team.
  12. I am sick and tired of the steroids issue too. This report does nothing for baseball and is nothing more than finger pointing and accusations that stems from a personal trainer and a clubhouse employee. I read the report by the way. The Astros should be embarrassed? Has Richard followed the Astros for very long? They are an organization that is known for standup baseball. The Astros upgraded the shortstop position offensively and I believe would not have done so without making sure Tejada is a man of character and high morals. When they signed Lee, they stated when they announced his signing, that he represented what the Astros have strived to build over the years....character and a mentality toward baseball in general that fits the Astros. Several years ago they got rid of Julio Lugo due to a domestic violence charge involving his wife. Smooth cut him. When I think of the Astros I think of things like Biggio taking a pay cut to allow for the salaries of Clemens and Petitte. The Astros should not be ashamed or embarrassed for signing Tejada, an innocent man. I have not learned anything about our local baseball team this week, as stated by the author. I know my local baseball team.....what I did learn this week or today to be more specific, is that some promoted bat boy and an old retired fat cat from Washington can sway the opinion of some and produce an article such as this. If this guy thinks the Astros should be embarrassed then I guess he should go pull for a righteous, clean nose organization like the yankees. Signed Fan of baseball Fan of the Astros Fan of Innocent until proven guilty
