  1. Saw on a West Brook fb page that this game started at 2pm, due to the weather. Might want to see what the score is.
  2. Nice win, Bruins. That should have punched your ticket to the playoffs. Never give up attitude will go far.
  3. Longview by 13. West Brooks defense is extremely suspect. I know some will say they held Bellaire Episcopal to 10, but I think Kelly could have beaten that team. Lol! The Bruin offense can score some points, provided they can keep from turning it over, and they're going to have to to stay in this game. But the defense has miles to go. I'd say 'Dem Boze by 2 scores.

  5. Welp, Lumberton is growing, and will move up to 5A.
  6. I sure hope so. If they play against SJ, like they played the first half against Kingwood, I dont think the Crusaders have a chance. And yea, provided we win, we'll be playing a Creek school in the 3rd round.
  7. Can the Bruins beat the same team twice in one season? Your thoughts.
  8. I truly had no idea this kind of thing went on. Earning a gold trophy for winning a state title seems a little less special, now, if you have all those other ones. Just my thoughts.
  9. I wasnt aware that you got a trophy for every win, no. SMH. I guess it's part of that no team left behind crap.
  10. Question. Does everyone that wins a Bi-District playoff game get a trophy, or is it just a Longview thing? Dude's be partying with a first round playoff win trophy. [Hidden Content]
  11. Well, that may be true, but West Brook still looked much better than when they played Sterling, LaPorte, King, United, and especially Deer Park. If they keep doing their thing, and keep improving every week, I think they could find themselves back in the state championship game. I'll be there to root them on.
  12. This is the most balanced, best game I've seen Brook play all season. If they continue to play like this, a return trip to Arlington could be possible. Bruins look really good!
  13. Completely 100% agree. If you legitimately play hard, and lose to a lesser team, then you dont deserve to represent 21-6A in the playoffs. If you intentionally throw a game in order to improve your playoff standing, then you're a schmuck, and you have no integrity, and you shouldn't represent 21-6A. By losing, WB ensured DP going D1,and WB goes the weaker D2, guaranteeing a longer playoff run. Either way, the Bruins shouldn't have lost to the Deer. Its despicable.
  14. Damn shame. Eric Peevey needs to check himself. That's inexcusable.
  15. Wow, I never thought I'd see the day West Brook intentionally threw a game in order to better their playoff game position. If you say they didnt throw the game, and actually played them hard, then my opinion of this team went in the toilet, and we should simply bow out of the playoffs in order to save face, because we suck. What the hell is going on over on Phelan Blvd?
  16. Calpreps has is Atascocita 38 West Brook 35. Nobody thought Brook would make it all the way to state, last year, either.
  17. Yeah, Atascocita is good, but they play on a dumpster fire district. I think if WB were to go D1, it would be a very close game with them.
  18. Because he wants them to have an opportunity to play for a winning team? I dont know, I'm just guessing. Call me crazy.
  19. To answer the question to the thread post, no. Coach Peevey is a stand up guy, with morals, and ethics. I believe if asked, he would simply say they play to win the game, regardless of the opponent in front of them, regardless of which division the Bruins are in. I believe they will go to DP with the game plan on doing whatever is necessary to beat the Deer. So, basically the same plan they've had since the start of district, in doing just enough to win. Beat Sterling in week 11, and let the cards fall where they may. Just my .02
  20. Spot on. The missed PATs, and FGs, have almost exclusively been due to high snaps.
  21. All things considered, I thought West Brook showed huge improvement, especially since it was a 55-7 drubbing last season. The Bruins competed, tonight. The defense played pretty well, and even forced a few NS punts. The offense did well, but the best teams will struggle against their defense. Ns is the real deal, and while we didnt get the win, it was a step in the right direction. The 25 points the Bruins scored is the most given up by North Shore this season. Hell, Katy only scored 24 against them. The Bruins will be fine, especially if we go D2. Should we make it all the way to state, again, I believe the outcome may be different. I know it's a loss, but the measuring stick used in this game says the Bruins are doing something right.
