We wanted to show you our stuff tonight , an at times we did. The problem I am trying to deal with is that you guys had no problem showing us your stuff. You definietly have a great team and program. I always accept defeat for the teams I support in this fashion---- I wish you guys the best of luck and am aware that each week somebody out there is gunning for you guys. Your success will ease that agony of defeat for us. As far as looking at you guys across the field-----dang your loud in other peoples house. ;D Till we meet again and then the smack is back--- PS-- by any chance did you guys take some of our footballs home with you? We seemed to have misplaced some :P
WeedBegone: I just want to say that we played well tonight. I have alot of respect for WB for playing a team like Katy. We are not going to put anyone down here. Everyone played hard tonight. As for WB you guys are going to be alright. Katy had a couple of games in the past years were we got beat by a little Woodlands team. I know WB will bounce back from this. In fact this will make you stronger and I feel sorry for the team WB plays next. I know nobody has said it but I would have liked to see what it might have been if the starting QB wouldn't of got hurt. I hope your QB is ok and you get him back for the next games. We also had like three players that got hurt. Hopefully all the players recover from their injuries and no one was seriously hurt. I have no doubt WB will win their district and be in the playoffs again. Good luck the rest of the sesaon WB. Much respect to you guys from this sincere Katy fan.
Thank you for a great post! Since the game is over, I too would have liked to see what would have happened if Jr continues to play (7 to 7 game) along with the three other starters that were out. It is funny when people criticize/ judge overall affectiveness when you take a heavy hitter out, especially at the QB position. "you should have more QB's" more this and that ready for times like this" We have what we have. I even heard people criticize the coach. Folks, nobody can increase the population of a school or cause players to come out. At WB, I can say that because of the discipline and high expectations, we have less that want to participate. We have one atheletic trainer, and about three student trainers. I saw a team dr and 19 student trainers on Katy's roll. Some may say, that doesn't win championships, well the trainers for instance may not play the game, but they are a major player in the "big scheme". Especially when things like the trainer's budget for "Athletic Tape" is half what it was when I played in the late 80's. Working out in a field house that is designed for a 3a or 4a program doesn't make tackles, but it provides the team space to develop the strength to get it done. The difference is "overall commitment". We need visionary leadership in the district to spend the dollars where they are needed to establish a winning system / culture. Parents, coaches, players, and fans see that about our district. Not being critical just honest. I think it is a classic story of "haves and have nots". Some might sya, "Oh but we don't want to go that far." WB has tradition. Good coaches and good kids that are coachable, but the things, the extra things may be grains of sand, but if you drop enough sand in one spot you end up with a hill or even a mountain! What does baffle me is that WB fans will get on here and concede the "3rd round" or the "state title" to Katy. Not me. My prayer is that we both are healthy and meet again. It will be one to remember> Good luck to Katy on the rest of the season. I wish you guys had stopped for some tailgatn. God Bless. BLU 42 BLU 42 Hut Hut
I wish BISD would have made an announcement on ticket availablity. I doubt it. The parking lot is open and will not be locked. We plan on firing up at around 1pm. A principle told me the gates( to the stadium / likely ticket sales) open up at 4:30.
Well just got back from the sophomore/JV Katy/WB game. WB got spanked by all the Katy Teams!! We won big on all games. The only reason WB scored 6 points was because we had our 3rd stringers in there and it happen in the 4th quarter. If all our teams scored that BIG what do you think our varsity team with all the best players will do? Look up the scores son we took out baby bear and momma bear. Saturday it's on to poppa bear. It's coming WB you wanted it you got it. Saturday is time to handle our business as usual. SGT Reyes you know it's just smack talk all in fun but I will be there early with my family and I look forward to meeting you. I for one am also Mexican so you won't be the only one there. I'm bringing the Bruin Burgers to grill at the tailgate. ;D
The Freshman (Red) was not what the score showed by far. As a matter of fact, one Katy DAd came by and said you guys have a good team. Very nice, but not patronizing, because we do. We struggled at QB a bit, but field position, and maybe if parents were coaches, but aren't, we would have made a few other decisions on game plan. We love the boys and the coaaches. Our team, IMO was more athlectic, but the Gameplan may not have played to our strengths. I enjoyed it! Just a step above middle school. Doesn't weigh very much in big pic. Good job Katy and WB. IMO future at this level, we are bigger and stronger and more atheletic (except for that RB they have_BEAST) looking ahead. Notable comment: Katy had (two teams) totaling close to 140 kids we counted best we could. Unbelievable numbers. If numbers are the barometer, We are David and they are Goliath! BUT I read the story...Did you? SOmebody BRING A CAMERA so all of us that are washed up (DADS) can take RED and BLUE pics at the tailgate party and reveal our "code names". History in the makn'

The defense will be ready. Make no mistake about it. IMO there are several things that this blog missed about the IKE game> #1 There were more defensive higlights in that one game than all year combined. Hard hits, break-ups, good coverages, etc.. #2 IKE after being down by 27 points, they came out and scored ok. It happens. IF THEN, you take away the "30 sec rest issue" caused by the fumble which put the defense immediately back on the field, and instead the defense is resting (like it should) THEN no immediate subsequent score happens. #3 Our defense, and our offense are our special teams! The kids will get tired, and a good / decent team will take advantage of that. So, Amen to all, BUT need not doubt this defense, nor worry. IF we have any problem, at all, compared to the Katy's of the world it is depth. Not the depth to replace an injured player, BUT the depth that during a course of the game allows our Horses to rest. With that said, I can say this, even though they stayed on the field the whole 3rd qtr, played a rough playing team, faced the fastest QB they might see all year, they still looked better after 4 qtrs than they did after 1qtr against Lufkin. They WILL be ready!
Please refer to the last paragraph above. I posted it on like page 2 or 3. Funny how it has taken 13 or 14 pages to focus adults. "Depth"! Four cats cat run a long way! If we rest the horses some, we are "in like Flin". Reasons we WIN 1. Atheletes. Straight from the mouth of a tiger, "we don't have many D1 kids, just a good team". We we got a team and good atheletes. Try starting with our MVP QB and a potent receiver core. Then, go to a fast hard hitting defense. D1 prospects on both sides of the ball. 2. We lay down the wood. If we will shoot our LBs every now and then (uncharacteristic) we can disrupt the interior running game. The yards IKE got was not a running game, BUT a jam up QB that can scramble. Katy will have to run up the middle. The edges will be shut down. 3. Discipline. We will be the most disciplined team Katy has faced all year. No doubt. 4. Running Game (X-Factor). Our O-Line will control their D-Line Mark it down! We won't have refs that home cook. That's MID COUNTY Southeast texas not BMT. We can't BUY a call. IN CLOSING, if we get our long field goal game and our fans in gear. We all DA SAME BABY. We both put the pants on one leg at a TIME! BLU 42 / BLU 42 / HUT HUT
