  1. I'm not going to go back and forth, but I wouldn't drink the koolaid on a quaterback that has never played in a collegiate game and can't throw the ball. He is the worst passer on the team, all other 4 quaterbacks throw the ball better than he does. Last time I checked quarterbacks had to throw the ball. I don't need to defend Prewitt, he was a field goal away from being 3-0 as starter as a freshman, in actual games. not going against each other. Intrasquad scrimmages don't mean jack. I'll take actual game experience and production over a glorified practice any day. I'm with you though, the new kid in town is the best thing since sliced bread, the way he reads and reacts, and gets the ball out on time with anticipation. haha What offense are they designing for him? is it a new one? something never seen before? maybe the one where they snap it to him and tell him to run like they did at silsbee? or throw the bubble screen? anyway best of luck to Lamar, I hope the coaches are smarter than I think. I'm done with this.
  2. I also attended the lamar spring game. If you saw the stat line of " J J " i guess 9 of 10 would look impressive. Against that rudy poo secondary though goodness. He could have easily been 4 of 10 with 3 int's . Everything he threw was late, he threw a fade route into a cover 2, and the half safety just ran right by the ball, most college safeties would pick that. Scrambled to his left one time and threw what looked like a kickoff, end over end, but no one was within 30 yards of the receiver. Threw a corner route for a touchdown that was literally like 3 seconds late, which is an eternity in football. The receiver broke and he was looking left, looking right, the receiver was doing jumping jacks and then he hit him. Completed a ball to the tight end that should have been picked, he was open forever and of course the ball was thrown late, safety jumped it and missed it. Lamar seems to have everything figured out though haha. They won't when a game with Jeremy back there, I can promise that, unless its against Our Mother of Mercy. On a high note though, I think they found a good returner and running back in Venson, that kid has some serious moves.
  3. I never say anything on these boards, but the Lumberton fan provoked me. Prewitt couldn't start for Lumberton!?!?!?! Are you kidding me? Since Lumberton is such a powerhouse around here, isn't Hussey the 3rd string running back that attributed to the 17 rushes for 28 yards. I guess he couldn't start for Lumberton either! Oh wait he was the best thing yall have ever had and got yall into the playoffs for the first and only time ever. Whens the last time a Lumberton quarterback in a HIGHSCHOOL game complete 24-29 passing, with 3td? Do yourself a favor and quit commenting, you sound like an idiot. You wanna look for positive things, try the 99 and 98 yard touchdown drives that the lamar offense has put together the last two weeks!
  4. Bottom line, I don't know if yall know this, but coach Rabb and coach Long have developed some quarterbacks in their day and things don't change. James Brown, Chip Ambres, Dustin Long...etc
  5. If they would have asked this question two years ago you would have gotten Harrison Tatum, Christian Louis, and Jeremy Johnson. No one would have mentioned Douglas Prewitt because he went to Kelly. This year you get Brennan Doty, Bruce Reyes, Myles Taylor and the kid from Huffman. Lamar gave scholarships to Tatum and Louis while Prewitt had to walk on at receiver because they wouldn't even give him a shot at quarterback. Well Louis was so good they moved him to DB, Prewitt gets a shot at quarterback a month ago after not playing for a year and half and now he is the back up. Lamar will probably give Doty and Reyes scholarships and pass on Eddins, but Eddins is the best quarterback in the area. Doty throws a good ball but has that Byron Leftwich/Tim Tewbow baseball delivery. Taylor from Hardin is a heck of a player but he is 5'9, the kid from Huffman has the worst mechanics out of the bunch, but plays in a passing system. Eddins by far has the best mechanics and throws the best ball, but the talent around him isn't like it is at West Brook or Port Neches.
