Burkeville hasn't had a college level player since early 2000,  the school has been hurt by dropping enrollment and losing teachers among other things.  I wish they would get back to the winning tradition but the district has bigger issues than football.  I know a lot of people wouldn't like it but i would go six man or just drop football temporarily.

[/quote] Until the UIL does anything it is what it is.  Burkeville cant do anything about it and in the end the best team still ends up at the top.  Theres three teams in the district so saying theres more teams deserving doesnt make any sense.  Maybe in another district or higher classification but thats why you play each team in your district.

[/quote] AggiesAreWe don't listen to this grinch guy, if I'm not mistaken he is just trying to talk up Burkevilles point guard which happens to be a family member. Now onto Burkevilles basketball team, there a solid team and and will more than likely make the playoffs.  They have a few athletes but to say they belong on the same court as silsbee is a little crazy.  Burkeville's teams from early 2000 to probably 2006 was stack with was awesome talent for a 1a school though.  Havent been able to keep up with the team too much in the last few years

I dont know anything about D'hanis, I think Evadale wins but i just cant see a blow out happening.

Congrats Evadale.  Burkeville will be fine.......still a year or two away but they have really improved.

[/quote] Im sorry but the argument that you cant get better teams to play you is not believable.  When Burkeville was able to compete they had no problems scheduling 2a playoff teams.    Yes Evadale is the best in the area and congrats, not taking anything away because you guys seem to have a good athletic program there.  Also Burkeville played for state in 2000 and won in 2001.

I expect Evadale to win, but by 50??  Evadale hasnt score that much in a game all year.......did they even do it last year?  You guys will go undefeated in the regular season and win one or two playoff games only because 1a has become so watered down with the three teams from each district getting in.  You guys have a good team but I dont think you guys have the explosive offense to hang with the better teams in 1a.

Burkeville has been hurt with enrollment big time.......and to add to it Roy Harper left for a few years.  Hopefully they can see there numbers pick back up and with Harper being back there atleast back to winning some games.  They have a ways to go but they will be alright. 

Crazy Dave why do you seem to bash Burkeville every chance you get?  What school do you support?

Evadale will win district then go one or two rounds deep if that.  Overall its still not a very strong district.
