Dayton's field was still too wet. We got a lot of rain Friday afternoon.

A friend of mine from BH told me C.E. King was much better than a lot of people are saying. I heard they can HIT!

Kudos to the BH pitcher. He pitched a great game. But once again....KP has seen AND hit pitching like they saw last night........wasn't their best performance in my opinion.

I've seen KP and BH play. I think BH is the better team this year, but I must admit that KP didn't play as well as they are capable last night. Not taking anything away from BH, but KP was not at their best. It will be fun watching this district play out this year.

A.J. hasn't played baseball since he was 12 years old. He is a great all around athlete and I'm sure had he kept playing baseball, he'd be good at it too!

patriot117 - I think you have misunderstood the Dayton posters. No slight is intended toward your team at all. You must admit, the Broncos made several errors in the last ending that put the Patriots back into the game. When Smesny left the game in the 7th inning the score was 10-2. The 5 runs that were scored by Baytown were a combination of Dayton errors, the pitcher being squeezed (and I assure you he was!), and good hitting by GCM. I think GCM showed alot of heart by not giving up and fighting until the end. No one is slighting your team.

Smesny has the start on Friday against Goose Creek.

He pitched 3 innings against Episcopal and looked great.

The game was scheduled to be played in Dayton, but KP's field was in better shape due to the rain we received recently so the game was moved to KP.

Dayton is hosting the Bronco Relays.

Dylan played QB in junior high but no longer plays football. He has played on several good select baseball programs in the Houston area in the past. He has been invited to play for the prestigious Kyle Chapman team this summer. He has a very bright future. (He's also a very respectful kid and a great student!)

Dayton sophomores, Dylan Kolarik and Joe Duff, will be names you will continue to hear for the next couple of years. Dylan is a left handed pitcher and outfielder. He closed the Dayton vs. Vidor game Friday night and pitched a full game against Jasper on Saturday. Joe plays middle infield and has an awesome bat. Congrats to the entire Dayton team for going 4-0 in the Vidor tournament!

You are correct, dayton. Cameron Crapo should see some time on the mound as well.

I talked with Smesny yesterday. As a sophomore he had an 8-0 record. Missed junior year due to ACL surgery. He's fully recovered, continues to grow (6'3" 205) and is looking forward to pitching for Dayton this season. Good Luck to Bronco Coach Jeff Stewart and all the players.

I saw a few local kids at the 2009 Prospect Camp at McNeese State on Saturday. The PNG outfielder looked good. Anyone know who he is? Coach Terry Burrows is looking to get the baseball program back on track.
