Ok, I wont throw up Vidor. But Dayton has not been in the district forever. If Coach Abel got 100% out of all is players like you say he does, then why everytime I went to a PNG basketball last season He and his best player constantly clashed. Either get rid of him because hes obviously a distraction or find some middle ground. Do something other than just get in his face in the middle of every game then watch him pout on the end of the bench for the 2nd half. And yes, High School basketball is about teaching and learning and all of that. But do you think that if Coach Boutte at Ozen did what Abel has done he wouldnt be gone? I think so.

I never said Abel wasnt a first class guy, but being a first class guy doesnt win basketball games. And thats kinda what he gets paid to do, and he has yet to do it.

Im pretty sure Coach Robertson would take the job if it came open regardless of 9th grade football. Hes known all the kids there since they were 5 and plus he lives there. He would be the best fit to turn things around at PNG. We will never win anything with Abel, Its time for a fresh start.

We will never be a contender until we have new leadership on the court. Its time for a change. PNG boy, Lance Robertson (currently Vidors HC), would be a nice fit.

Ive seen all these guys play, and Trahan is probably the best one right now. Babino will be in the long run, but a position change may happen due to his speed.

Coach Edwards would also tell guys who had weak arms that he had "seen better arms on a lizard" He was full of these kind of remarks.

Just curious to see who pitched last thursday for the bears.

Lack of experiece should no longer be a concern for most of the freshman that have varsity ability. These guys play year round baseball these days all over the country. They have seen just about everything theyre going to see in a varsity game already before the season even starts. If they are a pitcher, chances are theyve already thrown in bigger games than a non-district game agaisnt some high school team... Most of these guys play all summer long once high school baseball is over. They see all kinds of stuff and are put in all kinds of situations. If the kids good enough to be there, put him there. Kane Benoit from PNG and Matt Hicks from BC are for real ball players. Outstanding fielders, good hitters, and mentally sharp. They will be special players for years to come.

Adminbaberuth, I beg to differ on you comment. No hitting coach is better than having one that is teaching you the wrong thing to do. Or one that tries to make all "his" hitters hit the same way. It's impossible to do that. Oh and by the way, when is signups for babe ruth for this year?

MIF I dont have a problem with hitting/pitching coaches/teachers. I have a problem with some of the "coaches/teachers" many people had listed. I know David Huggins and agree that he does a great job. But guys like Morgan Walker are a joke. Not just him, and no I dont have a personal vendetta against just him. Notice I said guys LIKE him. Oh and this is not about me, but since YOU brought it up. I do coach, and have be successful to this point. Just last year my team won the USSSA 15U AAA State Championship. So now I'm sure you wont have any problems finding out who I am, but now does that really matter anyways?

Have loaded 14U AAA select, will eventually move up to major. Most of the BEST talent from PNG/Nederland. Is being coached by last years USSSA 15U AAA State Champs coach. Young guy, but awesome coach and great with the guys. Looking to keep these guys together for the next 2 seasons if all goes as planned. do you people honestly believe these guys are going to be able to make you/your kids hitter(s)? ive been coachin baseball for a long time, and have never seen parents just throw money at these guys without getting much in return. what have these guys select teams ever won? not much... these guys are way over-hyped. just because someone can/used to do something well doesnt mean that they are going to be able to teach someone else to do it well... not everyone is a good teacher.

whoa, whoa, whoa. Mike Long is an EXCELLENT baseball coach. He coached baseball along side Jay Stone at PNG for several years before he took the kelly job. he knows baseball. this is coming from a former player, now coach.

in 02 when stinson walked off against nederland at PNG after being "bannished" by nederland just a year earlier. priceless...
