  1. Well, I have a friend who coached under Moody and I will have to say that the discipline is bad, but what is worse is the work mentality that the kids have. It seems that if they are pushed to hard they will just quit. This is a AD's problem, but he doesn't really have the backing from the powers that be to try and change that. It seems that if a coach gets too loud or lets a cuss word slip they are given their walking papers. Moody is not the best thing that has happened to the program, but I am afraid that someone who really has what it takes to turn things around would not even apply. I think that he was hired to make the program look good and he has done that, with the scoreboard, the video board in the gym, etc. But now it is time to make a coaching change and bring some actural spirit back to LCM athletics, including football.
  2. All of you Toby supporters, think that bringing one guy back is going to make a difference or a change. One person doesn't make or break a program, unless it is the guy in charge. All coaches are important, but the head coach is the one that makes the decisions. Obviously, the guy in charge didn't think that Toby was the most qualified for the job or he would have made that change. If you think that the program at WOS has problems, but is successful, try being in the shoes of the schools that lose year after year. Oh and by the way, I don't think that any comments made on this message boarad about coaches on here make a difference as to what is really being done. The AD/Head football coach is in charge and unless you are him, I think you need to support the players and the coaches reguardless of who they are and what they did.
  3. I have been to quite a few WOS football games and feel that if the coaches didn't know what they were doing then, they wouldn't have made it to the playoffs year after year. Obviously they kinda have a clue as to how to get things done, otherwise they would be at home on Friday nights like alot of the other area schools. However, football, just like other sports are all based on situations, momentum and even luck. Just when you think you got what it takes, someone proves you wrong. The coaches and the players have nothing to be ashamed of and fingers should'nt be pointed at anyone. If you are a true "Mustang Fan" then you should support them win or lose, even the coaches. Congratulations to the Seniors on a great season!!!! ;D
  4. Well that would be dumb to do that. Its not like your watching golf or at Wimbeldon. The students are the ones who yell the most. Yes, they can be obnoxious at times, but that what high school sports is all about. ;D
  5. I think it is totally wrong from someone to come on here and post things about one school being better or worse than the other. Face it we are all partial to our own schools. Just remember one thing students read these post. They need to have pride in their schools no matter where they go. They also don't need out spoken parents or fans on here bashing another school, because believe or not there are kids from LCM and WOS that are friends and hang out together. What you learn is what you want to learn. If a student wants to excel academically they will if they don't they won't. If sports motivates students to stay in school and get an education then I say go for it. Achievement in sports may motivate them to want achievements in life. WOS takes a lot of pride in their sports and I think that is great, because every school has it perks and it bad points. LCM on the other hand has a great things too. Its all for the kids, so support them!!!!
  6. I have heard that Bickham does a good job. However, I do know he does more for football than other sports. There is life after football. I also agree with the comment about Jimmy Hallman. I have a few friends who are from D-ville and know him. They say he is a great guy and always does his job. He deserves a chance since he has the experience.
  7. Whether or not we (Vidor) gets a new head coach or not. I think our kids will suprise some people. However, it is hard to beat teams like Central and Dayton. I think LCM will also be a team to recon with in 07.
  8. Well you know that is true, football does bring in a lot of money, but face it there is life after football and all in all every AD's job is not just to coach football. They have to not only support other sports, but hire people who are knowledglable in their respective sports. I do know that AD's prefer to bring in coaches they know and are familar with. But my feelings are if a coach has had sucess in the past, don't fix what ain't broken. However, if you do decide to bring in someone else make sure they know what they are doing, don't make the kids suffer, just because you want to hire your friend who doesn't know jack about sports. Hats off to the Deweyville football team for a good season!
  9. Vidor by 7. Vidor will not take anybody lightly...Mathews has got them on a roll. NOTHING BUT LOVE FOR THE PIRATES!!!
  10. Well I don't know who you are talking to or about, but I have never pm you. Nor do I know any of your coaches, except your wonderful AD, since he was a former employee of Vidor(theotherpirates). Any way, Good luck to Deweyville athletes, hope everything gets worked out, especially for their sake.
  11. Nice recovery there DP#1Fan. They way you talked, you have beef with one or more of the Deweyville coaches. Any way, if Mr. Hayquist is as qualified as SETSportsFan says he is, then good luck to him and his impending season. Hope he will really do for the kids and not be a warm body.
  12. Looks to me like you are doing some coach bashing yourself their. DP#1Fan. Seems like you have some hard feelings toward someone.
  13. I do give the AD credit for being a good football coach. Hats off to him for having a great season so far. However, I do agree that football seems to be more of his concern and according to you he only cares about the outcome of games. That is sad to think he won't even go to the hospital to see one of his players that was injured in a game. Did any of the coaches go to the hospital?
  14. Well, let me clarify, I was not talking about the original baseball coach. I heard he was a very knowledgable baseball guy. I was referring to the possible new choice. I just think that if you have someone with baseball experience already on your staff, it would be a good thing, for the kids sake, to let him have it. Especially, if you are going to hire from within.
