We got three people from Kountze (well, 2 1/2) saying he is playing in Silsbee and one person from Kountze saying he is playing in Kountze.
I say let him go to Silsbee.  They need a few more additions ;D
Its official dude. He's a Tiger. Betrayed- Will there be a press confrerence like there seems to be (according to you) for such important Hardin County events?

I don't think he's serious, if he is he knows less about the game than anyone I know. The HJ staff makes more on the fly game adjustments than any staff around.I went to Jasper for several years to watch ballgames and Coach Davis turned that program around over night.Don't hate on the coaches because they have good players and the last time I checked it didn't matter what side the tracks you came from when it came to playing the game.
Bottom line is this- Betrayed didnt lilke the playing time he got and he doesnt like the playing time someone else got.  He has already put himself and a couple of friends in a jam, and you can rest assured he is about to make it uglier.  Betrayed, since you seem to like to belittle Coach Davis, check this one out.  See how the playoff preview game came out the year that Kountze was #1 in the state with Hall and Keithan Hancock when they played little known Tatum coached by Davis.

And when he didn't have those caliber of players, he either didn't make the playoffs or his team lost in the 1st round. Like you said, you cant alter facts, Numbers don't lie ;)  Here's the proof, Jason Thomas, and T. J White from East Chambers. Kountze, all 3 brothers "must i say" Trey Peters, and Ashton Hall. Then goes to Hj and gets blessed with 4 first cousins "Benard, Turner, Prudhomme, Bosha," and the great Ryan Donahoe.  Yeah I heard Davis took a team to the playoffs. But he also had a stud player that can shoot the lights out. Its ironic they won state the year after he left tho. Im going to leave Lee out of this because he seems to mind his business, unlike others ;D
You are going to leave lee out because he doesnt challenge any of that BS you put on here.  Nobody believes you but you, so keep posting.  As for Davis, he took several teams to the playoffs and turned a 2-26 team into a district champion his first year and was coach of the year.  Sorry, no kids from across the tracks involved.  Keep trying though because the more you try, the sillier you look.
 5.
How come Betrayed sometimes writes like and adult that has some command of the English language and sometimes he writes like an illterate 3rd grader?? I can't even understand what he's talking about sometimes. And again he obviously doesn't know where half of the guys he's talking about actually live.
Betrayed is grasping at straws.  He wants to discredit coaching staff and suggest that "his buddies" are the only reason HJ has had success.  The best team ever at HJ was the 91 state champs and it had little if anything to do with being from "across the tracks".  In his weak attempt to discredit HJ  - he goes back and finds one game that they lost and hammers on it,  Bottom line, personal disagreement with who plays now and who played in the past.  He doesnt believe that the coaching staff is better quallified than he is to determine who plays now or some years ago.( can you say personal axe to grind?)  People who believe that are a dime a dozen. Nobody needs to take my word for it.  Investigate for yourself.  If you look at the coaching record of Sutherland, Lee and Davis at schools other than HJ, you will find a degree of success equal to or greater than what has taken place at HJ.  Therefore, "the players from across the tracks" are NOT the reason for the success of the coaching staff.  As someone else already said, facts dont lie and the fact is that each of these coaches were hugely successful as head coaches at other schools.  There is no way Betrayed can alter that fact.

Souldn't it just be 4 more years since he is a freshman and you obviously don't know where he lives. Everybody technically "lives across the tracks" in China and Nome.
:D :D :D :D Betrayed, red2red, red2black or Swagg you just got Swag Slapped!!!!!!
Perhaps he should "check himself before he wrecks himself" As far as having players of the year and all state players, it takes an effective coaching staff to either make it happen  or let it happen.  Many of those playing decisions were made because the players learned it somewhere and it was not at the Nome Gym.
Whatever, They can't even win their own district outright!! Let me guess, its the players fault right?? ;D
yes, whatever.  Who else from that district has a state title in recent years?  I would also suggest that you look at their record over the longer term and it compares favorably with that of most anyone.  They may not have won their district outright but, if my memory is correct, they went 2-0 against the greatest team on earth last year.

LOL Zay is the only senior on the team this year:) Lynn is a Jr. :)
Maybe so, but his last year to play. Heard he was opting out of his senior year to go pro. ;)
Going Pro?  Obviously a Universal Off Season product.

The thing is, there is time to do all of those at the next level. Time is a little short on the high school level, and skill level must be the first priority. If kids can find time to get stronger thats an extra benefit!!!
Excellent FACTUAL response
I concur! But at the same time anyone can find time to do 25 pushups a night and 25 sit-ups. Do something! There are some big kids on the high school level who are beasts out there.
LOL!  :D
I am going to contact the HJ Administration and point out to them the futility of continuing a basketball program that is obviously about to become an embarrassment to the district.
 15.
So, HJ couldn't run with the big boys, huh?
Nope, they didnt stand a chance.  I have already seen some posts by a brilliant talent evaluator who has prognosticated "the end" for HJ.  He is very inciteful.  Look for HJ to finish 4th or 5th this year as the "changing of the guard" begins.
 16. Even the kids who have the skill sets must keep working on them  or they will fall behind the others who are not using Universal Off Season.  Hmmm - I wonder if Kyle Singler and Gordon Hayward are products of Universal Off Season in High School?
 17. Trueblue- If you want to be able to make your statements and not be criticized for it, regardless of what you say, change your name to Swag or Betrayed and you can say anything you want about any team or any player , and all will be fine.  In fact, you may well be praised for  "being passionate about basketball"
 18.
I have no problem with the lifting durng football season. But I do monitor after the football season is over. Specific seasonal training is okay. Because of the nature of basketball, kids need the extra strength to compete and get better, especially when they play against older players.
Sorry Dove, but strength is totally irrelevant if the skills are not there.  Kevin Durant would be a prime example.  He couldnt meet bench press standards at pre-draft.  I'm pretty sure Oklahoma is thankful they ignored how strong he was.

 20.
Okay, you must really think I was born tomorrow  :D It will be out of HJ and Silsbee. And I've never seen any of thse teams play. Oopps! I did see Silsbee once this year.
I don't keep up with NCAA nor NBA (boring) anymore. I only make my predictions on the talent I see and the system. I didn't attend one game @ LU this year. Why? I saw their talent pool. Season tickets? Hmmm? Personally, I'd prefer game by game tickets.
Ok then, just tell me who will win the District this year and how close to the bottom HJ will be

 23.
I think HJ will be in the hunt againt this upcoming season. But the gap is closing in on HJ. By 2011-2012 season, the district will see some new changes. Enjoy your last season for awhile.
Fortunately, for HJ, all of the above will be decided on the playing floor by the players as opposed to someone hoping he can create a self fulfilling prophecy.  Early in the NBA playoffs, Charles Barclay said Cleveland would beat Boston in 5 and that Orlando was the best team in the East.  The results suggest otherwise.

 25.
The things that you do in universal offseason are not harmful to the athletes.  It is  harmful to basketball because that 50-60 minutes a day is not working on skills that you must now rely on a 14-18 year old kid to do on his own. Even if you open the gym, the coach can not go in there and put him through drills and make him work on individual skills or even team skills that could be done during the period.  A player is more likely to go into a weightroom on his own and go through a weight workout than go do dribbling, ball handling, or shooting drills in the gym on his own. So to answer the poll question again.  Universal offseason IS harmful to basketball by taking that time OUT of the coaches hands to work on things he thinks they need to work on.
I agree and dont think it takes much sense for others to arrive at same conclusion.
