Burkeville has their coaching situation figured out. They have a lot of seniors this year, and some promising prospects. People are underestimating the Mustangs, and honestly, I don't blame them. Nobody but the coaches have watched them practice, with the exception of a few parents. So nobody knows how good they are. I'm not saying they will be perfect, but a lot better than people think. I hope the Mustangs will win, and honestly I think they can. But it will be a GREAT game, and very CLOSE. Mustangs 6 Eagles 4

i got chills reading what Burkeville Chronicle wrote... ended his high school career with a NO HITTER. congrats to TYLOR ERWIN!! if anyone deserved an ending that story book... its that kid.. wow im soo happy for him and for the mustangs ending their season like that!

2 wins.. that is not a fair assessment of the mustangs this year. they have shown a lot of heart this year, most of which came from the game they played against West Sabine in which they lost 9 to 7. that game almost brought me to tears because they were playing for their teammate Tylor Erwin whose grandma is in the hospital. speaking of Tylor Erwin. he has shown so much leadership by coming here from newton and taking this team of youngsters, half that no little about the game, and carrying them on their shoulders, a job that he could not have done without his coach, Randy Rose. Coach Rose came into Burkeville knowing that it would be an uphill battle from the beginning, but he took the job and made sure his players had a great time on the field. he managed to put 3 great pitchers together and make a good rotation. Tylor Erwin, the ace, started of the year so great, he has fallen off as of late, with a tired, tired, tired arm to blame. Zach Busby, a kid that has never been a starting pitcher before, to be as dominant as he has is such a pleasant surprise, if you dont believe me, just ask the coach, he will be the first one to tell you. Cameron Vanveckhoven, who has a legit chance of becoming newcomer of the year, its not often you see such raw talent coming from a kid thats been at burkeville all his life. He is such a great talent and a joy to watch. The hitting has been the main problem this year, the lineup is strong in the middle and weak at the end... such a sad thing when people pitch and play defense so well. The mustangs still have three games left... and i want to challenge them to win all three of them... GOOD LUCK MUSTANGS

congrats to Cullen Barker. I am a mustangs fan... and i know that they are struggling... and have been all year.. its a shame that the mustangs arent winning... but its kind of hard to win when only 3 of the batters are consistently putting the ball in play... i cannot wait for next year. they are getting some exciting freshmen next year.. they are losing their team leader Tylor Erwin.. but are keeping key players like Cameron Vanveckhoven, Zach Busby, Denver Jarrell, and Stevie Evans. i look for the mustangs to finish the year with at least one victory and maybe two

this game wont be as close as the last one... Tylor Erwin is pitching and i know he will shut Brookeland down.. the mustangs seem to have finally hit their stride... Mustangs 11 Brookeland 1

wow i can finally say the mustangs are a baseball TEAM!! this game proved that they played with heart... i heard their senior Tylor Erwin had to leave due to a family emergency... and u could tell that that was heavy on their hearts when they took the field. they played soo well... but the fact that west sabine has more talent gave them the edge at the end.. still.. even though it was a loss... it was the best game ive seen the mustangs play in recent memory. Chris Wakefield finally began to hit the ball like we all knew he could. Zach Busby smashed the ball twice for two solid base hits. And Cameron Vanveckhoven had his second straight scoreless outing... he is going to be something special.. i promise. the mustangs finally looked motivated... i hope they can carry this motviation to the next game against Brookeland.. GREAT GAME MUSTANGS  ;D

im going to start this off by saying i believe in miracles.. which the mustangs are going to need if they want to win this one. Their junior pitcher Zach Busby, who has been A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE this year, will take on West Sabine tuesday. If he can keep them below 7 runs... and the mustangs actually hit well.. i think they can come out on top. Tylor Erwin hits the ball everygame and his batting average is up around .500, but he can not do it alone.. Denver Jarrell has really heated up lately with great at bats. If the mustangs could ever upset the Tigers... this is their chance. Burkeville- 8 West Sabine- 7 (HOPEFULLY)

the mustangs are coming off the worse game they will play this year.. i know that their coach wont let that happen again. if im not mistaken Zachary Busby is pitching this game... hes been somewhat solid this year... so hopefully he will continue to produce.. the middle of the lineup has been dismal lately... they need to produce if they want to win! the way i look at it... broaddus is just a better team. not saying anyting bad about burkeville at all!!! i still have faith that they will play spoiler to some good teams this year... they are not a bad team.. just VERY young. and people like phantom need to shut up.. they are doing fine.. just played a bad game.. Tylor Erwin... Cameron Vanveckhoven.. and Zach Busby all showed how tired they were... hopefully they get rested up this week for Zavalla because Burkeville NEEDS these 3 players to compete. but shortstop Denver Jarrell went 2 for 2 last game... its a shame that a performance like that is overlooked by the 18-0 score

what a heartbreaker for the mustangs... wow.. i thought they had it.. Junior Zach Busby pitched a great game.. just got tired at the end.. i look for Burkeville to beat them next game... great game by both teams... one play that stands out in my mind was a diving stop by Denver Jarrell... what a great stop it was... the mustangs played great defense all around.. they just left too many runners on base... good luck next game mustangs ;D

i respect what u say... and im not trying to say things in a negative manner... im sorry if u took it that way... i think that if Tylor wouldnt have gotten hit by that pitch that he supossedly leaned out in front of... then the mustangs would have been in that game

well this was not the game the mustangs hoped for. they came out flat and stayed that way. They were very bad at the plate... junior Zach Busby went 0 for 3.. and senior Tylor erwin went only 1 for 3. Chirs Wakefield failed again to get a hit. Im optimistic for the mustangs... but they need to step it up and play more solid baseball if they want to compete with teams like West Sabine. They were a very good team... but if it werent for some [size=18pt]TRULY TERRIBLE CALLS[/size] by the umps... the mustangs may have been in the game at the end. I just want to wish good luck to the mustangs as they travel to Brookeland on Tuesday where Zach Busby will pitch. I see the mustangs winning this game by at least 3 runs. ;D

Burkeville is coming off a tough loss to Hull on Friday... despite a stellar performance from that Tylor Erwin kid... who had 11 K's I believe. Ive heard that either the freshman vanveckhoven or the junior busby will pitch on Tuesday. i believe they will win either way.. but i really want to see that Busby kid pitch to see if his game against Brookeland was for real. Look out for their streaky hitter Colin LeBlanc... i think he will surprise some people. and from this game i think we will also see that Tylor Erwin is the real deal.. hes already got 1 Homerun!
