1. I'll play, but I won't be able to attend draft.  I'll be too busy rockin out in Dallas  ;D.
 2. The reason why HF basketball blows is because there are no "basketball players", just kids who play basketball.  There is no dedication.  During the off-season, compare how many kids are shooting hoops to those on the diamond or volleyball court.  That's why the volleyball team almost went to state last year and the baseball team having success recently, they have kids dedicated to their sport.  The v-ball team has a few kids playing college while the baseball team has two current D-1 players.  Just my two cents, though.
 3.
I'll raise you 10 and bet it is not. His play speaks volumes without tooting his own horn.  Last summer he pitched in the toughest matchups against most other teams aces and played a mean shortstop when he was not pitching. There are probably as many baseball people in Oklahoma who know JOSH CLARK as those in Texas who know the real JOSH CLARK. He will be playing on TV as soon as any other 2010 player in this area I am sure. That's who Josh Clark is!
I remember Josh Clark just fine actually, and that would be awesome if he did happen to appear on the television, as I can then tell an interesting story to whomever it may concern about an experience I had with Mr. Clark.
 4. 10 bucks says My2Cents2 is the aforementioned Mr. Clark?
???? What happened during last year's baseball season, other than the team making the playoffs for the first time in several years? (under the direction of one of those coaches with AD experience, by the way)  I must have missed something. Also, before we start dismissing the experience "in house" because of the lack of success this year, maybe we should do some research and see how those coaches did when they were the ones "in charge".  The assistants can only go where the head coach leads.
I'm also kind of confused by what you put hfresident.
 6. The field is relatively short compared to some other high schools, and it seems like the wind is always blowing out.  I've seen many home runs out there, coming from huge guys to guys that can barely pass as high schoolers.
 7.
So how many homeruns is that?! And they said the bears were gonna be down this year  ::)
LCM tourney is always full of home runs.  Last year there were at least 30 if I recall right.
 8. Not to try to sound rude, but is some of the schools being talked about southeast Texas?
 9.
H-F Varsity - 22 EC Varsity - 1
Great way to start off the year by keeping up that tradition, any stats?
 10. I just hope that with Tiger's absence some younger players will step up and show what they have on tour.  I would like to see McIlroy get his first PGA Tour victory, Camilo win again, and somebody in the top 25 of the world rankings to win a major and not some average tour pro (no offense to Glover, Cink, or Yang).
 11.
Actually if you don't count soccer as a sport (which is easy to do) the numbers and success rates are down.  Football, baseball, softball, volleyball, and track were all better prior to his arrival.  There were three teams playing football at the high school level with some freshman A-B games.  The track teams were much better, and the softball and baseball programs had higher winning percentages and more playoff appearances. Remember, this is the same place that ran off Phil Danaher. They have a history of running off coaches. The only difference is this time they have a real excuse other that not playing the "right" kids.  The shame is the people who hired him will not be held responsible also.
Uh, volleyball was one game away from state last year, as well as I think regional quarter-finals? two years ago.  Baseball had one of it's better season's last year, and look to be headed in the right direction.  The other four sports, well, if you knew Hamshire you would know why.
 12.
anybody know anything about HF this year???
They have one freshman that is pretty good, can't remember the name though.  He got a couple hits and a few RBIs during the Tarkington scrimmage.
 13. Damn, I wish he would play next week at Pebble, being the U.S. Open is there.  Or, at least the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship.  It's fun watching him in match play and he's won 3 times.
 14.
Hicks has stood out for years now.  He has a great record and has pitched to all the teams played that were the best scheduled; plus, led to deep in the playoffs.  He has proven to win the big ones over and over for years Question, what is BCs Mitchell Hubbard's top speed? He seems to be ready to join an excellent team brace of good HS Pitchers. Over at OF, I like their pitcher Chase Angelle he stands out as quite superior IMO.
Not trying to say who's better, but I would think that if Johnson was put in the big games that Hicks threw in, who's to say he would've done better or worse?  Hamshire never really had any big games for him to win, and the games he did pitch they won the majority of them.
I fear you will have a short coaching career with that strategy
I fear you  had a short coaching career with your strategy.
That was pretty low hill Guy but I understand people from By may not have experienced being on the positive side of a big win
Forgive my poor country-bumpkin reasoning, but how was that "low"...it sounded like this aspiring young coach wannabe's strategy will be to pile up as many points as possible, regardless of the situation...did you not read the same sentence I did?  "If a team couldn't stop my 1st stringers for 4 quarters, it's not my fault." So whose fault would it be?
Well first off I plan to pursue coaching in a different sports where it's a little easier to keep all the starters in for the length of the game, and there's a mercy rule too.  I've been apart of embarrassing games on both sides, and I had no problem with either.

 17.
No he is not--a couple from OF and a couple from BC....come to the games and find out...lol
Johnson, in my opinion, is the best pitcher, along with BC's Hicks.  I have a little bit more first hand knowledge about all the returning pitchers, and to me he is right up with the best pitchers in the area and/or state.
 18. I would say the same three teams from last year, just mix up the order a little.  Bridge City will always be strong, Orangefield is returing basically everyone along with two D1 recruits, and HF has one of the best/most underrated pitchers in the state, IMO.
Yeah I noticed that too!!  My son told me it was pigeon poop when they played in Filth-adelphia and pine-tar in NY.  [Hidden Content]
Uh...it's from the rosin bag.  They throw the bag around, then mess with their hat.

Thats when the core will all be in hs together.......... hey, on a serious note, how tall is that Bosha kid now? Looks like he has grown some.
I'm so tired of hearing about how some 3rd graders are going to be the best team since the '95 Chicago Bulls. Ever since I was a young tot all I heard about was how HF's c/o 2009 was going to be great in every sport and dominate everything. Do you remember that team? No you don't because they didn't do anything. They all ended up giving up because they are undedicated and this community no longer supports sports and have a coaching staff that is less dedicated than the players. So all I advise is that everyone shut up and just play! Prove it on the court
Just throwing it out there, but the baseball team was probably one of the best that has ever been through Hamshire.  Those kids worked on their game all off-season, which is not present in basketball.  That's the reason why the basketball team never amounts to anything.
The baseball team was good last year, and they did work hard. Look at football and basketball, because that's what I was referring to. Everyone said they would walk everyone throughout high school, the athletes started believing it, and didn't work to be good.
Very true, as an alumni it really sickens me to see the athletics program suffer like this.  It seems like that the only sport that gets any extra training for during the off-season is baseball.  Growing up in Hamshire, I never saw kids actually working out on football and basketball as I did for baseball.

 22. Chris Stroud is currently tied for 5th at -8.  One really good showing this week would pretty much secure his card for next year.  He's also getting a lot of attention from the Golf Channel as being the "bubble boy", the 125th man in the money standings.
 23. Tiger, Paddy, and one of my favorites Hunter Mahan all tied at -4 for the lead. Great threesome on top.
 24. Last major starts today, early leaderboard shows bombers Alvaro Quiros and Dustin Johnson at -3, Tiger -2, and Paddy at -1.
