Texas Thunder 97 went undefeated to take 1st in 12u, then came back Sunday and took 2nd in 14u. We are very proud of these girls for stepping it up this weekend. Great team effort by all.

Congratulations Young Guns on the finish! I was getting updates all weekend on the games. This was a great TEAM effort from all the girls and coaches. I understand the competition was tough and the girls played hard to pull it out. Also congrats to Ashton on the big shot to center, the hard work is paying off!! 

Congratulations OOC and Shockers on your wins. Keep up the hard work!!! And yes there is a load of talent in this area.

Try-outs are still on for today. The infields are wet, but we can use the soccer field. We have also located another dry area in one of the outfields. Hope to see you there.

I think we will be short a few kids that weekend, but we are checking. We would sure like to play against the top teams in the state in " the big 12 tourny". We really appreciate the invitation to play.

Last week on Christmas day the family of Madelyn "Mad Dog" Daniels lost everything in a tragic house fire. The family was out of town when this happened, and was unable to save anything.Madelyn plays for Texas Thunder "98" (Mike Higgins).Please extend a helping hand to the Daniels family in their time of need, and keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Texas Thunder will be holding tryouts for (12u "97"), (12u "98") and (16u) on the following dates. 1/23/2010 (2:30 to 5:00) at the Vidor Girls Softball fields on Operator Lane in Vidor. And 1/30/2010 (2:00 to 5:00) at the Athletic Complex on College St. in Beaumont. Recently we loaned three players to an older local team that was short for the weekend. Our girls had a blast, and strengthened their relationship with the kids on this other team. Our kids played six games Sunday, finished the tournament, and still made it back to practice with their own team later that evening. The coach in need of players called our coach before our players.  There will never be a problem between these two teams borrowing players when in need. We are all here for the same reason, to teach these girls sportsmanship, values, integrity, and work ethic. Although we all battle each other on the field, it is great to work together to help these young ladies. Calling the coach before the player has always worked for us.Hope this info will help.

Yes, in the second inning Anna (catcher) twisted her knee in the mud between first and second base, which took her out of the game. You talk about hard trying to keep that kid on the bench with ice on her knee. It took 2 coaches and 1 parent to hold her down. The girls made adjustments and finished the game.

Texas Thunder 12u and Texas Thunder 14u both went undefeated to take 1st place in Deer Park this past weekend. Great job girls, keep up the hard work!!!!!

Texas Thunder would like to say thank you to all who have participated in our tournaments this fall. Young Guns, Orange Crush, GT Shockers, and Out Of Controll have played in every one we have hosted. Also the other local and Louisiana teams who have participated in the past. Thanks for your support. This past Sunday was cold, but that didn't stop the fun. We saw some great games with the extremely talented girls from this area. We always enjoy being around this group of coaches, girls, and parents. Have a merry Christmas!!!!!!

Congrats Guns on a job well done. Yall always play solid ball!! The two bombs hit to the parking lot by Mikey were unbelievable.
