1.
Nederland has always had a faithful and spirited fan base (as evidenced in this thread). The team seems to be down this year I guess because of injuries. But I'm glad Nederland is doing better as of late, it will make for a better game with Lumberton. Lumberton did not play well against PNG, that is an under statement as they were never in the game from the start. They played a conservative game against LCM last week, but they took care of business and did what they had to do for the win. Lumberton has 8 very good receivers and the QB uses them all. The QB runs very well and much better than Nederland's. The RBs have more depth now than the beginning of the year with the emergence of McDonald. The O line is back and healthy. The run defense is solid, they have three starters back healthy after getting hurt in the Livingston game.  Nederland should expect a swarm of blitzes led by the beast, Anthony Beard. The defensive secondary is ready for the one on one pass defense that goes with the blitz. If Lumberton limits their penalties and turnovers, they will win by 13 points. All said, I expect a very exciting game and what a way to end the regular season! Go Raiders.
what is the word on beard as far as schools? haven't heard anything recently?
 2.
Livingston will be up for this one. After last week's win over Central, confidence will be the key to this game. Livingston has it and Vidor has spent the past 30 years trying to find it again. I just think the Lions may have the Pirates number this year. LIV 24 VID 17
agreed!
Tarped, youve got to be joking right?
:) :D ;D ;) ???
 4.

I'd like to throw in my two cents here as well. This is a sports forum. This is high school football. It's a kids game that we all have an interest in. To see people attack Lumberton as some "white flight" community or to label all of Beaumont as the "hood" bothers me. I don't know why we, as adults, have to lower ourselves to such a level. I live in Lumberton but I am not a racist nor do I hate Beaumont. I support our youth (be they white, black, green, etc.) and I am thankful that we have a kids game (high school football) to help bring us together. Let's not let other "petty" opinions ruin that bond. This thread could easily go much further south from here and turn into something that none of us want. So, let's keep the talk between the goal lines and above the junior high level. And, if Central makes a playoff run, this white Lumbertonite will be rooting for them all the way just as I know a lot of members of this forum (from outside Lumberton - be they black or white) rooted for a bunch of written off Raiders when they finally made the playoffs. We are all part of Southeast Texas, a great place to live in my opinion, and we should be proud of all of our local youth for the efforts they put forth on the playing field. Lastly...don't worry about the Raiders. We have a lot of kids coming up and I think Coach Creduer has laid a foundation that will keep us competitive for years to come. We should all hope so because it definitely makes it that much more exciting in 20-4A when the competition is strong and the outcome is unpredictable.
Very good post! If everyone thought like this the world would be a better place.
wanted to respond to that post, and I'm so glad you did, my Irish temper sometimes gets the best of me! well said, thank you!
 5. LUMBERTON WILL BOUNCE BACK, WE HAVE A GOOD GROUP OF KIDS MOVING UP, NOT TO MENTION A BUNCH OF SOPHOMORES WHO GAINED GREAT EXPERIENCE THIS YEAR, WHO LIKES A DOWN YEAR? SO DON'T LOSE HOPE, REALLY NO REASON TO FOLKS!  8)
 6.     what about jacob hanna transfering to Lamar?
 7.
I dont really know what to think anymore, I know I just hate it for the kids. I have enjoyed the heck out of the last few years and watchin the guys win and seeing the town rally around them. Me and my buddies got beat up and down the field for four years under Fuller and theres no worse feeling...this coaching staff is much more capable than those days and they will have our guys ready to go next year. This year is one of the smallest teams in stature and number that we have ever sent out of the tunnel. no excuses, and I think we finish out the year with wins against our next two opponants.
my nephew was in the same situation with the same coach, came so close to the playoffs, those were a tough few years. and you are right about the present team, high school football you always lose talent giving way for the younger guys to gain experience, like you said no excuses, and they will be back without a doubt!
 8.
??? C'mon guys and gals, let's here from you. Thick and thin, folks, thick and thin. I know you guys are better than this.
what do you want to hear? people who support their team have no control who shows up for the games, I think all you really want is start a lame thread and rub it in that lumberton is having a bad year and that is fine, and like I said, there are people who do show up at the games, if they don't show or leave the game that is their problem. you do still have people who support the team, thick and thin dude thick and thin!  ;D

I guess since you are not the big kid on the block anymore, it isn't worth your time to go and support your football team. next time you post something, make it a little more meaningful! and don't worry we'll be a thorn in your side years to come!... sounds like sour grapes!   ;)
just paying you guys back from the smack you gave everyone else the last two years and we still dominate in bball...what sport does lumberton dominate in? hhhhmmm?
how did I know basketball was suddenly going to appear? this is a football thread, gloat when the season starts. I'll bet you guys have 20 people in the stands this friday, and that is including the band! am I right? I believe so!

 11. lumberton will be back next year, it happens, especially in high school football you lose a great deal of talent and build your team back up. 2 playoff appearances and then a losing season, yeah it stinks but it is reality, png was at this stage last year but look at them now, you guys look sharp, I'll be pulling for you guys inthe playoffs...you will be undefeated no question!
 12.

Well, should we go ahead and play the game or not? Seems like you got it all figured out. I vote we go ahead and play the game anyway. On another note, what cocky receiver do you speak of? If he knew what you knew he probably wouldn't even dress out. Thanks for letting me know in great detail the out come of the game. I'm sure you are always right on with this assessment so I wont even question it. I will assume it to be so and prepare for defeat. Thanks for the heads up.
Man i have to work... (huff) Let me give you some more detail. I'll try not to make it long even though I am methodical. PNG will win the district hands down. Not because they are good but because the rest of the teams in the district are pathetic! Thank goodness for the new coach at PAM and PNG that are bringing football back to the area. The rest of the coaches need to be fired. No apologies they stink! Come on, smash mouth football, be for real. Sounds macho and manly but be honest it was painful to watch.   I'll be back tonight to rub it in  :) Sincerely, Sonny Crocket
have fun at work....sonny crocket? pretty pathetic, sincerely wolfgang  8)

For some reason they always seem to be off guard or something, in those first 5 minutes. Then…the adjustments made by PNG are just remarkable.  As for the secondary of PNG, come on! They are unmatched. Forget about the offence, it’s PNG’S defense especially the secondary. This is what has happened in every game since day one. Don’t forget FS Dunbar from PNG set the tone for the rest of the season. Dunbar the FS of PNG picked apart Barbers Hill (just ask them, who is number eight?) and just ask the teams that came after. They were so darn worried about him they could not execute their game and ever since then most teams recognize that he is lurking in the back. Now teams that have tried to throw the ball avoid Dunbar. Instead they have to depend on a running game and here they meet PNG’s Defense, they are just too good. All Teams that have played PNG and have had ridiculous high scoring basket ball scores are kept to a low score when playing PNG. Just go check for yourself. This has to be credited to the defensive coach Dwayne Kroaker (not sure if the first part of the name is spelled correct) who coincidently is from Lumberton. These are the same players! Playing amazing football, you could see this in the spring training. It’s not the offense it’s the D. that sets the tone so the Offense can play. This is what’s going to happen tonight. Lumberton cannot run the ball, they might try but it’s not going to happen. As a matter of fact I think that the LTrain coaches know this. So, they will try to throw the ball to that wide receiver that they have (the real cocky one). Dunbar will shatter his dreams!! Plain and simple, as a matter of fact, watch for this match up all night. The FS Dunbar will be switched on and off to DB and matched up to Ltrain’s fastest and best receiver at all times and in the end PNG will get the W. I just hope Lumberton makes this a game and not quite and get demoralized like most teams that PNG has played in this District. PNG by two and a half touch downs and by no means Lumberton scores more than 20 no matter what.   That’s how good PNG’s Defense is… Good night and Good Luck.

wow   ::)
Well, should we go ahead and play the game or not? Seems like you got it all figured out. I vote we go ahead and play the game anyway.
