  1. Holy crap! That's about all I can say. The L-Train is for real. You made a believer out of a skeptic. Go win state.
  2. Now that is the funniest thing I have read on this thread yet! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! ;D
  3. Might as well play LSU! They are closer that Permian. Heck, Lumbertom might get BCS votes.
  4. He was a heck of a player imo. I remember thinking that kick went in but it just squeeked wide to the right. No disrespect meant, just had to through that comment in there. Heck! They still went to state that year I think.
  5. I wouldn't pick PNG winning by a FG if I were you. If history serves me correctly, that has bit the NDNs in the buttocks before. Cough, price, Cough, wideright, Ahem. DOGS ROLL TO 6-0!!!
  6. Football is just a game. It gives you great teaching tools for later on in life. Let's get real, how many kids do you know who are going to get a full ride to a D1 University then get drafted into the big leauges to play on Sunday? The odds are slim to none. Fans and sometimes coaches forget that this is just a game. Let's get behind these young men and give support and lend a hand in bettering their lives for the future. Coaches have the ability to mold minds and physical abilities, even more so then anyone else because of the time and dedication they put in to the program and for the fans of their respective communities. On topic, Coach Matthews is a great motivator and AD for Vidor Athletics. I believe they can make simple changes to their offense to make them more of a threat then what they are. Their motto now seems to be, "Any given day." They have the ability to be a " EVERY DAY" program.
  7. After pep rallies, me and some buddies would go and play college football on playstation. Then I went to Subway and ordered a 6 in. cold cut trio, went to the locker room and ate it. I also took a chair into the showers and sat there for 15 min. and then got dressed out. Same thing every Friday for 3 years.
  8. I believe those are the only ones. Also, Kip McFarland when he was there in the early 2000s.
  9. Lumberton doesn't even know how to spell playoffs or district championship.
  10. So far it's a Nederland-fest, but here's another one... Name all the current coaches at Nederland who played QB.
  11. The only other QB I remember from PNG since Long was Jacob Diltz. I'm pretty sure that's not right either.
  12. It's hard to name one Nederland running back as the greatest. Especially when in about 10 years time(give or take a few years), the Bulldogs produced three 1st Team All-State Running backs in Sumrall, LaBove, and Mosley. Take your pick.
  13. That was my very first Bulldog game went to after I moved to Nederland. I was hooked ever since. There were several big hits in a brawl between Nederland and either PA Lincoln or TJ that same season I believe. It looked like the Pacers/Pistons game on the field. Anyone remember that?
  14. WOS92, I went back and read your post and I appreciate your point of view. I have much respect for WOS and the legacy that they are continually building. When I was playing, that game always was circled on my calender. And the Saturday after, I sure felt it reguardless of how much I had played. As far as the patitan's comment about Ned playing PAM...whether or not Coach Nuemann is "scared" to play PAM bcause of all the athletes, it really doesn't make a difference to me. Nederland has chosen to play Lamarque for the past several years because it basically looks better for 4A ranking purposes (which we haven't been in for the past couple of years) and even more so for the experience before district play. Even you, patitan, would agree after stepping back that the Cougars are a more superior TEAM that PAM. I think that Nederland is better off taking a "whipping" at the hands of a more superior TEAM in LM than to pittle-fart around playing the Titans.
  15. For the 39%, like yourself patitan, who voted for Nederland probalbly dislike them because your team, at one time, were the whipping boy(s) for them from the 1996 seasons to the present time.
  16. Well hopefully we can change that. It's a new season filled with new faces and high goals. And as far as being "lucky" goes, WHO CARES! We acheive our goals reguardless if we sneek into the playoffs or not. Each team holds the cards to their own destiny. It just happens that our cards play well and it pays off at the most opportune time. Facing any team in the playoffs is important because it's win or go home, DUH! So again, it doesn't matter how you get there or who you play. It's all about winning and meeting your goals.
  17. I was quite impressed with Nederland especially for it being the 1st day. Especially impressed with the receivers. There is alot of talented hands out there. Keep up the good work. And as Larry says, "Leave it better than you found it."
  18. Ryan Piletere. That was one hard hitter!
  19. I guess I'm out of the loop in this SETX Demons thing? What is it and who all plays?
  20. I think PNG's move will be a good one, not so much for the team, but more for the community and fans. I would get tired of all those toss rights and toss lefts and a counter here and there with an occasional first down too. Who know? Maybe it will work out for them. At any rate, good luck Indians on a successful season (except against Nederland). ;D
  21. The goals each year for Nederland Bulldog football has been and always will be: 1) An outright District Championship 2) Playoff Birth 3) State Championship None of these three goals are UNattainable to Nederland or anyone for that matter. It takes character, perserverance, and a will to win that surpasses those you line up against week in and week out. And since 1996, Nederland has proven the the area and the state that the Bulldogs are a formittable opponent. One of these days (hopefully this season), Nederland will earn an outright District title and State Championship.
