1. lol we all know UTSA will rise up to FBS before LU and SHSU
2. hey texas terror, why dont you ever visit the UTSA board... ;)
3.

My guess on first yr attendance would be they would average north of 17k.  If they win 3 or more home games, and have a good recruiting year, they would stay on pace with that the next year.  However, they are going to have to bring in some decent opponents beside the SLC teams for the future to keep the  attendance up and of course, win some games.  La Tech and USL (ULL) would be 2 really good draws along with say UH or Rice or Tulsa or So Miss.  UAB might be a good name draw.  Dream big boys and make it happen!
None of those schools would visit an FCS school. Against C-USA and SBC by-laws...some of you have much to learn re: football!  :D
definitely
4. high optimism here, if UTSA averages 15k a year id be ecstatic
5.
OLB Jeremy Coleman, Humble TX.  Scout 1-star being recruited by UTEP, Baylor, UTSA and LU. MLB Alvin Arps, Tyler TX.  Scout 1-star being recruited by Abilene Christian, Lamar University, Stephen F. Austin, Utah State, UTEP. LS Trevor Steele, Houston, another scout 1-star player.
can u send a link? id like to see who UTSA is recruiting and scout is really weird to navigate around
6. i really hope lamar and utsa play each other in the start (i dont see why we wouldnt) it would make fun roadtrips for both sides
7.
Larry Coker & UTSA Football got an original article in today's New York Times. [Hidden Content]
8) Go Runners we have around 17 or 18 verbal commits so far, less than 100 days until our first National Signing Day!  (i think?)
8. at first i wasnt too happy about UTSA playing in the alamo dome but it seems to be really helping us recruit which is a good thing....also i believe the plan is to stay in the alamodome until we can afford a full circle seated stadium that holds about 45k people. i hear that the plans are similar to UCF's stadium. the reason i like using the alamodome first is because hopefully it will pull san antonio to root for UTSA as their OWN team, because most of the core kids coming into the program, if not all are from san antonio and surrounding areas
9. yikes, right when football starts, hopefully things pick up soon and lamar fills that void
10. yeah everyones pretty excited, we have a 3 star running back commit here is a video clip of the quarterback we are targeting, we have received a soft commit from him here is a video of the running back i think you are talking about ive read that one of our OLine commits had an offer from a couple big 12s schools also you cant really get your hope up too high until they sign their letter of intent or whatever but a lot people are excited about the possibilities there was an article a while ago how coach coker held a football camp for junior/senior highschool kids, it said a little over 500 kids showed up to the camp and around 200 showed up to texas states, san antonio is VERY excited
11. Any further word on the UTSA schedule? Once we know their slate, we could look at wins a bit more. I think UTSA will have just as competitive a schedule as LU. no word on the utsa schedule, our first national signing day is this feb....we're opening against georgia state university as far as i know...it seems like everything is falling into place, with coker coming in, playing in alamo dome, over 500 kids showing up to our football camp, hopefully the ball keeps rolling
12. what are yall anticipating as your first years record...if UTSA goes .500 in their first year i will consider that a crazy success
13. I'm going to bite my tongue here...enjoy your day! 8) come to the UTSA board on spurstalk, we always welcome more action
14. is lamar going to juco route? utsa apparently refuses to and wants to recruit all its kids from san antonio, which can work against them
15. I am 18 years old and I have probably 50+ friends who are THRILLED about living under their parents roof, paying no rent, and are excited about getting a good education and having a good college experience at Lamar (myself included). Yes it's true that a lot of kids come back to Lamar after failing out of a bigger school or not doing well but the majority of people I know are staying at Lamar because it's a lot more attractive of a school than it used to be. I don't know one person that isn't going to A&M, UT, Sam, or SFA because of the recession. There is so much in grants and financial aid that it's not that hard to get loans and pay them off. If the recession is really affecting their families, than they are not going to college. And keep in mind I just graduated with a class of over 500 kids. im not calling you a liar but i just feel it hard to believe that 50 plus kids are 'thrilled' about staying home for college. i think its human nature for an 18 year old to leave the home....its when a person really discovers what kind of person they are and wants to break the leash from the parents. i have an 18 year old cousin and all their friends are flocking from houston to go to big texas schools and it seems they are all pretty excited...
16. im on the fence about bringing in a load if JUCO players, ive been told thats the 'wrong way' to start but no one can really say why?
17. not if UTSA has anything to say about it
18. hows the demand for season tickets concerning lamar going? its pretty much one of the first things asked when UTSA Football is brought up...the city is pretty darn excited right now...i just hope i can score some lower level seats between the 20 yard line and the 80 yard line...somewhere along there and i'd be happy
19. i wish UTSA was building its own complex instead of using the alamo dome so i can check tabs on its progress also
20. do your coaches have any links to schools they played in cal or mississippi
21. very good read, i like that scheduling.. 1/3 teams they should beat 1/3 teams they can beat 1/3 teams they probably wont beat im guessing the teams they wont beat they will be playing 'away' games
