First, Jeremy is 6’2” tall and he weighs 187 lbs. He has not been 175 lbs. since his junior year in high school. Second, he decided to come to Lamar because he did not want to sit out a second year to play for another FBS school, or go the JUCO route like Cam Newton did. Third, Lamar offered JJ a scholarship before they offered anyone else a scholarship back in 2009. Fourth, he did not leave WVU because he was homesick. There were other issues that came into play. The homesick statement that WVU made was a cover story for other underlying issues. Not only did Jeremy leave WVU, seven other players left including the # 2 ranked dual threat QB in the nation Barry Brunetti. Furthermore, they fired their OC Jeff Mullens, RB coach Beattie, OL coach Johnson, TE coach McMichael and their HC Bill Stewart is a lame duck coach for one year before they reassign him after the 2011 season. Fifth, JJ will compete for the QB job and he will be fine. I am not going to say a whole lot about the stats, but I will say this: JJ threw a lot of balls down the field his senior year.  He did not throw a whole lot of those hitch passes and screen plays that build stats, like some do. So, if a 57% completion rating seems horrible to some, that’s ok. It got him noticed on the nation level (Ranked 9th by rivals.com, Ranked 8th by scout.com, and Ranked 5th in Texas by sports Illustrated) even if he didn’t play for a 5A school. By the way, Earl Thomas, Tramain Thomas, Sean Weatherspoon, and Trey Franks didn’t either.
I've seen the QB's on the list above, not Miles Taylor, and they throw/threw as many screen plays and hitches as the next guy.... Don't know how much of what you say, in reference to JJ, is true on why he left WV....but.... ok. He's here now, they're will be competition at the QB spot, Good luck to all the young men competing...
I'm his Father. Like you I am a proud dad, and all of the WVU stuff is true.
Verified....Sorry about your experience in WV...no one said 57% completion is horrible...someone made it seem like he was the only one that delt with dropped passes...like you said, we are proud fathers, and we should be...can't say that any parent wouldn't be proud of their kid. I still say this will be resolved in the fall...and still say good luck to all the hunt.

 4. 67% vs 57%.....what else needs to be said?  they both had drops....etc..one played 3A and one played 5A what's your point....? ???
There's a lot that can go into that at the HS level. Chances are, there were 2 or 3 drops a game by his receivers. Not saying they did or didn't, but those happen pretty frequently at the HS level compared to the college level which would bring that percentage down. And I'm not saying he'd be good at either position, just spit balling and ''what-ifing.'' Either way, LU is better off this season than last, and will be solid contenders in the slc.
Despite the mathematical question of....how much would 2 or 3 catches help 57%....I still like JJ as a QB, but think he can help LAMAR as a back up(today), on special teams, and yes at WR. again, still say this team is prewits
See this post about completion precentages. Now, look at a post on another thread regarding completion recentage from the same poster.
What thread?

Im sorry I hurt your feelings and you had to joust at me with the clueless bit.  Anyone  who has been to Beaumont would agree that it is not a very clean place.  I had friends who lived there and they said the same thing.  Sorry I hurt your feelings, was just stating an opinion.
So which mecca of east Texas are you from?
east Texas bb: is from Some place warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called...(this is where you come in east Texas bb)

He came to Lamar primarily because he was homesick and he did not want to sit out a year.  If he came to Lamar for one year and went to Baylor guess what would happen????He would have to sit out another year at Baylor!!!!!!!!!!! If he transferred after one year at Lamar which would only leave him with 2 years to play because once you start your eligibility you have 5 years to finish 4.  So there goes your "genius theory."
Aaaahh...well I stand corrected....this will be resolved in the fall.

That's down
These squads have talent.  But coaching is lacking.  So I don't think that talent is down.
Yes it is Soulja1 Stop taking up for Central. Living where I live, you know when you have talent or not ;D
Looking at the 2007 Ozen team should be a good indication.  That team was not really talented at all.  But they marched to state on the shoulders of SUPERIOR coaching.  Probably the best job of his career.  This Year's Ozen team talent wise may be just as good or even better than that team.  But one will never know.  Central have a Stud guard that have only gotten a little better as he should be light years better than he is now.  Boutte would have this kid head and shoulders above the rest right about now...
Oh okay, I see what you are saying. I saw a kid in the Central/Ozen game drive to the basket and had it blocked 3-4 times. But with good coaching, he would have had his floater or mid-range game to use, IF he knew how and when to use it ;)
;) ;)
That sounds more like a ball hog....a good coach would have him in the game... ;D
 20. Since I can't get off football, Who is the best Football player playing basketball in SETX? Vise-versa? Does Soulja know anything about small schools in this sport? Does Soulja know how to play basketball? How much money would you pay to see Soulja and Joey in a game of 21?
