1. Stephen, Glad to hear you are starting a team. The girls in your area are lucky to have you!.....I know all of the UnLeeshed girls will get excellent coaching. I look forward to seeing you at tournaments soon. Bubba
2. First, thank you coaches for supporting our tournament! We hope you all had a very enjoyable time. Congratulations to the following players and coaches. We had a lot of very close and entertaining games. The weather could not have been better. Plus, the BBQ was off the chart good.....thanks again to all that helped make our first tournament a huge success! Results for 14u 1. Texas Rush 2. Young Guns 3. 3. I really want to thank the local teams that are supporting our USFA tournament April 24-25 at the Beaumont College Street Complex. We could not have done it without you! The 10u, 12u and 14u brackets have made. It is going to be a fun weekend. We are also pre-selling BBQ plates as well as full racks of ribs if anyone is interested. BBQ will also be available tournament weekend....plus full concessions. Again....thanks to our local teams!!!!!
4. Congratulations 12U Shockers....I can't wait to see it hanging in "The Barn"  ;D Coach "C"
5. As you may have seen on the local news, a Lumberton family lost everything in a house fire. This young lady plays for our '99 GT Shocker team. If anyone is interested in making a donation, we are going to give the family gift cards to a couple of stores so they can try to replace everyday items. We are also doing a clothes drive, but the gift cards are needed most at this time. Please contact me  (Coach C) at (409) 790-0175 for details or mail checks to P. O. Box 12039, Beaumont, TX 77726 made out to: SETX Storm/GT Shockers FBO Harvey Family. ] Anything is greatly appreciated!
6. Congratulations to Young Guns and Orange Crush for a great game! It was fun to watch. I thought for a minute that we might be headed back to another ITB in the championship game. Thanks Texas Thunder for putting on a great tournament!
7. Congratulations to '99 Out of Control and the '99 GT Shockers who played a 3 hour and 10 minute marathon (starting at 8:34pm)  for the championship of this weekend's USFA sanctioned tournament hosted by Texas Thunder. This included a 5 inning progressive ITB (runner on second, runners on second and third, bases loaded, bases loaded 1 out to start the inning and bases loaded with 2 outs to start the inning) after already completing 3 innings in regulation. Both teams played great ball and both teams deserved to win...it shows the level of play is really coming on strong in SETX. In the end, the GT Shockers edged out OOC by a single run for the championship. Congratulations to both teams for a well played game! Congratulations to the Shockers for battling back after losing their first bracket game to very good Intensity team out of Louisiana. The Shockers defeated Intensity the second time around to earn a spot in the championship game against OOC. In all, the Shockers played 7 games Saturday....great effort girls!
8. Ronnie, I know the USFA state tournament will be very well organized... you always put on great tournaments! Also, I would like to encourage ALL local teams to support the '99 GT Shockers USFA tournament held April 24-25 at the College Street Complex, pod 4....the pod way back in the back of the complex...the newest pod. If we all support each other, softball in our area will grow for all of us...which means the girls in our area will benefit...and that is what it is all about! Please sign up early! ] ....thanks.
9. I would like to extend a personal invitation to all of the local 14u teams to play in our ('99 GT Shockers) USFA sanctioned tournament on pod 4 (the newest pod in the far back part of the College Street Complex) April 24-25. We will have BBQ cooked on site, a fully stocked concession stand, no gate fee, coolers are welcome, and as you know, there is plenty of room to warm up and set up tents. Please go to the USFA website, ] to register. The more local teams we have register early, the more teams from outside of our area we can attract. We appreciate your support!
10. The '99 GT Shockers are looking for a strong '99 or '00. We practice at a private facility, so if you are interested, you will need to call one of the numbers above for directions. Thanks!
11. The 10u GT Shockers are looking forward to playing and supporting the tournament! Looks like we may finally have some good weather!
12. Congratulations "Young Guns"!!!! We all need to take pride in our area teams and support their tournaments and root for them anytime we are not playing each other! (we can still want the girls to do well even when playing against each other) We have the deck stacked against us when it comes to numbers and the size of our cities...let's show pride in each other....this should always be about developing the talent of our local girls.
13. Dottie...Please let your pitcher know that we are proud of her. We agree with Darren33, she is doing very well. It is fun to watch all of the girls become better softball players....they have all come a long way! Keep up the hard work girls....it shows!
14. Dottie...Just back from a tournament and read the board. I can assure you that this lol99 was not posted from anyone on our team. We had an 8:00pm game Saturday night and the entire team was having dinner and we did not leave the restaurant untill 11:00pm. We are very proud of OOC and want nothing but good for your girls. We must never lose sight of what we are here for....yes, we all want to win, but never at the expense of any of the girls...this is and always will be about the girls. Congratulations on your state and national rankings....it is something to be very proud of! Coach "C"
15. Are there any select teams for a 15-16 yo to play for in the Beaumont area? In Houston?
16. The '99 GT Shockers conduct open practices for interested players. We practice at a vey well groomed private facility that offers us an indoor facility during bad weather and this allows us to practice year round. Please call one of the numbers below for questions and/or directions. We are a select travel team looking for a couple of girls with good skills, good attitude and willing to give their best effort. Most of our girls have played together for several years and have built a strong friendship. We have very, very little player turn over and we have fantastic parents. We play most of our tournaments between Houston and Lake Charles. We will be attending the 10u World Series in Panama City, FL in July. If you have questions or need additional information, feel free to call Coach "C" at (409) 790-0175, Coach Bryan at (409) 284-2393 or Coach Tracy at (409) 781-6851.
17. Congratulations! Always great to see local teams doing well.
18. The '99 GT Shockers will be hosting a USFA tournament April 24-25 on Pod 4 (the newest pod at the College Street complex in Beaumont...the one very seldom used). We hope to have brackets for 10u, 12u, 14u and 16u teams. We will have exceptional concessions (BBQ ribs, links, hamburgers etc. cooked and smoked on site). We would appreciate our local teams signing up early to encourage teams from Houston and Lake Charles to participate. Thanks!
19. I believe they do a good job. If the extra $25 makes a difference to you, I would play in another type of tournament in Houston...it is always cheaper to drive over there.
20. The 10u GT Shockers are looking for a couple of qualified players. Girls need to have a 1999 or later birthday. Call Coach "C" at (409) 790-0175 if interested.
21. Our Tuesday, August 18th open practice was rained out (or tornado-ed out)....we will reschedule and post the date here. If anyone has questions, call Coach C at (409) 790-0175.
