Why don’t we wait and see who we are going to play before we start talking smack. (Not a big fan of talking smack, I say you do your talking on the court, with your play not your mouth.) ;) I hope that we don’t play Nederland they are on a roll right now and look a lot different then when we seen them earlier in the season, and I just don’t like playing the same team twice in a season it usually doesn’t go well,  IMO. Heck we played CE King three times and didn’t win any of those games. I want the boys to play Ozen.  But who ever we get we will be getting 20-4A’s best team and it will be a good game. BH lost because they turned the ball over waaaay to much and couldnt make their free throws. Not because anybody was under the weather or the weather was bad. But that was a good one about the rain GMCPats! ;D  LOL

From the looks of who HJ played in their tournament they had a soft ride to the champion ship game…. HJ vs. Legacy Christian (W, 88-42) HJ vs. Pleasant Grove (W, 94-69) HJ vs. Aransas Pass (W, 100-58) HJ vs. LC-M (W, 70-46) HJ vs. Bullard (W, 76-62) HJ vs. Kountze (W, 81-78) SOOOO it looks like things are not much different than in BH! It happens, its called home court advantage! I would rather see a pool play tournament or a round robin event my self. ;)

My mentors Jerry Stewart of Dayton and Kent Bachtel of Waco Midway are definitely student first. Other coaches I've worked with that I would put in that category are Todd Schoppe (now AD at Laporte), Mike Bass (now Ad at Alvin), Coach Carson at Woodlands College Park, Dexter Wesley the OC at Aldine, Coach Simmons at Aldine (formerly of Smiley), and Bruce Bell formerly of Forest Brook and North Texas U. You also don't have to look any further than some of your youth leagues. There is no pay there just love for the kids. I know there are some bad apples in youth sports, just like in high school sports, but there are some youth coaches that I would like to have on my staff because I coached them throughout high school and I truly know their character. One that is like that is a Barbers Hill parent, Marcus Hamilton, who tries to work out BH athletes in the summer to help out the program. He has his heart in the right place and I wish he had a teaching certificate - I would hire him in an instant. He is the type of community member that makes Barbers Hill a great place to live. Its more of a round robin tournament format, thats the way it was run last year, and from the looks of the BH schedule its the same this year.  IMO Calallen wins the tournament and BH and HJ fight it out for second.
