1. Kingwood Park is a team who lost alot of players last year. The gloves better improve for GCM. good luck.
 2. Also Arron Rogers and Trevor Robertson also play for CE King and not Kingwood Park. Did anyone else notice no 1st team catcher listed. I would think it would be Andrew Cole but I don't know.
 3.
WOW.....As Coach Byrd would say. BH with an honorable mention selection who came was inserted into the lineup after prom? WOW...... And a Defensive MVP on a 7-7 team that failed to reach the playoffs. WOW.. ???
Congradulations to the kids that made the team. I know quite a few of these kids and it is well deserving. As far as the kid your are talking about as defensive MVP I have been around this kid personally and he played a couple of tournaments with our team during the fall and this kid works his a** off and I would take him on any team any time(This team would not have been in the position they were in without him). Also congradulations to Price,Taylor,Chance and Jacob. All your hard work payed off.
 4.

We felt that the ball that basically bounced over the first basenan's head could not be ruled and error because of the "bad hop". It was in no way a routine play.
I disagree completely. Not that it matters but the ball didn't bounce over his head. It was a routine play. No way that ball should get into the outfield. At worst you knock down. It went right past him about waste high. He tried to glove it instead of getting in front of the ball. A guy sitting next to me made the comment " If I'm Butler I throw the next pitch into the pressbox if they score that one a hit." The play by your 3rd baseman in the 1st inning that was ruled an error with him making the play in front of SS was more difficult than the play at first.
I agree. Both were errors and in a game like this you have to play almost perfect to upset the better team.
Yes both were errors and plays both kids have made pretty much all season. It still comes down to you won't win scoring 0 runs in 2 games no matter who you play. I actually counted 5 errors for the game for GCM for what its worth. But overall a good season for GCM and every kid on that team has alot to be proud of.
 5. Great game to watch and to be a part of even on the loosing end. Bellow kid is one if the best high school pitchers I've seen. Great job by GCM defense all night long. Hard hit balls that plays were made on. Congrats Dogs (Hopefully the favor can be returned) My prediction GCM 4 Nederland 2
 6. Congrats to Kingwood park. Great group of kids. GCM's mistakes and lack of hitting in key situations cost them again.
 7. Great post. I have got to work with some fine young men from alot of these schools in this area during the Fall and Summer and will miss it greatly. Thanks to all of the kids that given all their sweat and their weekends to play ball and even taught me a thing or two along the way. (GCM,Sterling,Lee and even a few from Barbers Hill)"Yes believe it not some people from Baytown and Barbers Hill do get along" ;) ;) ;) ;D
 8. I donot know how many K's GCM had but way to many. Some bad at bats. Some things you just have to wonder about. Oh well on to the next one.
 9.
You are exactly right, he carried your Pats yesterday, even your BIG hitters!  :o Rupp's baseball savy is what costed us that run, be grateful for that.
I said it before thats what good teams do when some of the guys that have been carrying the team at that plate donot have a good game hitting then someone else has to step up and thats what happened. But the same BIG hitters you are refering to made every play at thier positions to help the team win thats all that matters.Great play by infield and outfield last night by GCM.
 10.
There was nothing to figure out last night. Butler could not throw strikes. Crosby scored 3 runs. Not like they lit anybody up, but it was enough last night. The Upshaw kid did his job and pounded the zone. GCM had alot of selfish AB's. Time to move forward.
Yes Pats you hit it on the head. On the defensive side for GCM to many walks and usually those leadoff walks put you in a hole and they score.  Crosbys bottom of the lineup went up looking for walks and they got some and then you put yourself in tough situations. Offensively GCM tried to drive everything out of the park and it didn't happen and leaves you open for alot of bad swings. Congradulatoins to Crosby it doesn't matter how they won it they won.
 11.
Didn't he throw last time against Crosby, 140 some pitches or something like that?
Yes and I'm sure Crosby will probably throw the same kids they did last time also.
 12. You are so right donot let anyone take anything away from you boys at King. You play with alot heart and you had a chance to beat other teams other teams. Only lost to GP by 1 and had GCM down early.
 13.
to post on the other thread about the MVP not The kid was a descent player but not the MVP come on! BH had the best pitcher who had 1 district loss BH also had the best hitter with 7 long balls and a 390 BA in district What they did not have was there coach pushing for them
I thought Barbers Hill also had at a couple of kids that made it that should not have because I know of kids that had better seasons at that position. But I do agree with you about the MVP last year I thought it should have went to Colby or Jay but the coaches vote we don't and my opinion really doesn't matter.I'm sure this year some of the picks will be shockers also.
 14. Thats what good teams have to do is play as a team and do whatever it takes to win.  Good team win and the defense is playing really well right now.  From here on out playing the better teams in the district you will need different kids to step up every ballgame.
 15. Who pitched for both teams?  Will be interesting from here on out.
 16.
Rambleonus and BH0088, I was going to post on the other thread about the MVP not coming from a 3rd or 4th place team but they locked the thread. Anyway you guys have short memories, our 19-4A Co-MVPs came from 3rd place Crosby and 4th place C.E. King last year. Trust me, it can happen and it did. ;D
Big difference Illijah Short was the best athlete in the district with one of the best batting averages.  He beat teams with his stick, speed and could play any position on the field.  Every team in this district I'm sure thinks they have MVP'S (plural) on their respective teams. There are alot of good players in this district. But he is doing a great job and I was impressed with his composre when we played them.  Keep up the hard work.
 17.
Of course BH played NF but did you see any posts touting the homeruns and runs scored. Come on man it is NF we are talking about.
No to worried about who is the number one pitcher on the team and how much pressure there is on the boys on the team. Pats continue posting for GCM you are doing a good job. There sounds like tere may be a little jealosy there. ;)
 18. Why wouldn't you throw Gabby or Ressler unless you were taking them lightly or you have some sore arms?
 19. Homeruns are great and is of course the biggest hit in baseball but what wins ball games against the good teams is doing the little things with the bat like sac bunts and situational hitting that GCM needs to do to win the close games in the second half of the season to make a playoff run.  But great game by the kids no matter who they played.  I think BH played the same team didn't they?
 20. Wow what happened here?  Sounds like Dayton almost pulled one out.  Who pitched for both teams?
 21. Big game against KP coming up.  Who threw last night?  This district could get interesting again with even CE King and Dayton playing much better.
 22.
with GCM u never know! They are so streaky.... when they are on they can compete with anyone, but when the are down anyone can win! i hope they show up wiith there best so it will be an awesome game to watch!
You are so right.  I think GCM will step up and if they do it may not be an awesome game to watch if you are a KP fan.  Depends on who shows up.  KP has a great group of kids and they always compete.
 23. Lucky to make the playoffs?  Most people I have talked to picked them to win district especially when you have probably the best pitcher in the district.  There where 4 teams that I thought could win the district and three so far have played to there potential.
