4.

I have a question since y'all keep bringing them up in this thread.  How are the Sundevils different than any other select organization now that Chip quit footing the bill?
The way I understand it: The SDs facility is open to any baseball player 5 days a week to work out with other players and coaches for a monthly fee. If you are on a SD team or at least the 13 year old team the monthly fee is included in your monthly team amount. The idea is to teach kids to work on their skills to be a good fit on any team and build on their tools for later scouting which SD strives to get their players in front of.  If lesson are needed they are available like every other facility for a price. The SDs have 2 practice fields, both manicured with nice equipment. They also have multiple cages and bullpens. This is as close as you will come to a college environment, it is very relaxed.  It doesn't seem any more expensive than any teams we have played, especially for what is offered. When I visited recently there were 14-15 year olds  working, and the 12 or 13 year old kids were fielding for the m. Later I saw the same 15 year old throwing to the younger kids for bp and the coach was giving help when needed.  Not a bad way for kids to get comfortable facing the bigger guys they will be facing. I believe it is run professionally without the focus on money but focused on scholarships and higher. Yes, there has to be a financial side, it costs lots of money to run a facility and teams. My son has played on 4 different select teams hopefully the Sundevils will be the next. The Sundevils approach to practice reminds me of martial arts. If you throw 1000 punches and kicks a week, who has the better chance of protecting himself on the street?  The guy who practices all the time. I believe there may be some frustration from folks with the new SD 13u team getting kids. Can't blame them, but kids changes teams. I think this is a great opportunity for anyone who gets on any of their teams. I have not heard of anyone who puts kids in better positions to be looked at than Matt Thompson. More expensive, maybe you get more for your money.
Are the SD really that hard up for players that they are now posting "how great their organization is" on another teams try-out thread? Wow!
5. If my child plays for the Gladiator organization will they now allow them to play in USSSA tournaments?
6. You guys are ridiculous! Who gives a **** who is a "better" Director, who puts on a "better" Tournament, these are things that are simply other individuals opinions, not "facts". Tournaments have an incredible amount of variables that go into weather it's a "good tournament" or not. All I know is that I have 2 boys that play in different age groups and both for the Gladiators, and due to a "pissing contest" (IMO) neither will be allowed to play in several tournaments their coaches had scheduled, nor be able to play at some great ballparks. I do plan on calling the USSSA Director, and maybe he can explain to my Kids, or the roughly 80 others that are now in the same boat. It's really pathetic and so are these posts, can't you guys find something productive to discuss.
7.
Anyone have info on ORWaLL? From what I hear they usually come stacked and ready to play. West End better come with their hitters, as opposed to leaving their big bats on the bench. If your ten your in.  HA.......
Hmm... Guess we now know how ORWALL is! BTW that's nice Rich!
8. My oldest played both this year. Luckily we only had 1 Tournament conflict, but half way through the season he was over league ball. Not to sound tacky, but the other kids lack of ability was very frustrating to him. Nothing against League ball, or the other kids, or coaches. We will never do both again. Your kids have the ability, just stick with Select ball!
9. You better remember those Ladies, every time I go up to the concession stand they are busting their butts! Great job Ladies, that's a hard job!
10. He has been on this message board in the past, maybe he's reading!
11. They are waiting to see how the scrimmage goes! LOL!
12. Thanks Rob! After 5 straight games these boys are looking better and better! # 6 and hopefully #7 tomorrow!
13. Again, not sure the point you are trying to make. Why?
14. not sure about past years, but the Board has no say so in All Star coaching now. LOL! Not hostile, just perturbed! Like I said in my very first post, Not sure how it has been done in the past!!!! My kids have been playing at TC for 4 years, All Star coaches have not been chosen by the board(in their divisions), they have been chosen by winners of end of season tournaments, or voting by other coaches.
15. not sure about past years, but the Board has no say so in All Star coaching now. Pulled this right off the TCYB web site, " 5. All-Star coaches will be nominated by secret ballot of the league coaches. All-star coaches will be appointed by the Board of Directors". You obviously do not have a child currently playing at TC do you! If so you would have known they were changed, and that is not the official TC Website! Is there another point you are trying to make?
16. So proud of how all the boys played the last 2 weekends! Great Job guys!
