Have lots of MONEY!!!!!

Look at the top 5A and 4A programs in Texas year in and year out.
Allen - Money
Katy - Money
Southlake - Money
Lake Travis - Money
Ausitn Westlake - Money
Pearland - Money
Cibbolo Steele - Money
Aledo - Money
Highland Park - Money

Sure the occasional Lancasters pop through to get to or win a Title, but the above mentioned programs win regularly.

LaMarque had a pretty good run in the 90's as did Stephenville (they one it again this year in 3A) but your point is well taken.  Lake Travis facilities are on par with a lot of colleges.  The most important thing that the money does is attract and keep top flight coaches.  The days of a Curtis Barbay staying at a small school like Newton and building a long term championship program are all but gone.

Correct. Westlake was able to pry Allman away from his alma mater and one of the most storied programs in HS football in the nation which he was building back into a power (Odessa Permian). All it took was $125K a year. Those schools also seem to get a lot of ex professional athletes kids!

That's correct also!!  You saw the same thing with Southlake Carroll when Dodge was there.  All of a sudden you had these "move ins" of ex cowboy player's kids.  Bottom line is in the metro areas "where all the money is in the state", they now have the resources and they are using them to their advantage to build programs that win year in and year out.  Other schools around the state may get a good group of kids come through and make a little noise for a few years but then it drops off.  These football factories like mentioned above build winners out of the kids they have year in year out and then they get the "move ins" that only help keep them at the top!!
