All-District 2012 - The Waiting

Recommended Posts

when we talk all district in the different districts , the one thing i get a little confused on is when a player makes mvp or defensive player of the year that person is not mentioned or listed in the 1st team picks , in the past or back when i played high school ball (mid 80's) if you were the mvp , def player of the year , outstanding lineman of the year you were still listed as a 1st teamer of the position you played . i live in va now and this is where i 1st started seeing this format some yrs ago .  i have seen where a young man was def player of the year but didnt know what position he played cause he is not listed . i do remember yrs ago a player made 2nd team qb , but he was that district most outstanding back , but you knew he was the 2nd team all district qb , the 1st team qb was the leagues mvp , he was listed on the team . i guess we just assume that he is a 1st teamer ? a little help please .

I hope 19-4a all district don't come out for a while, I'm talking after Dec 22nd..... :)

But my 19-4a MVP Offensive Player of year is Gregory Hogan Jr , Summer Creek

Hogan has been a beast this season no doubt.

If a player gets a superlative then he is not eligiable for 1st or 2nd team.
thanks wtb i never knew that,  i just got back into following high school ball for the 1st time in a long time and since i played ball in the area years ago i was just wondering .  i know years ago it wasnt like that,  do you know the reason why they decided to do it like that  ?

Usually, All-District picks aren't announced until after each individual district teams are knocked out of the playoffs. The selections have already been made though. I hope we don't see 20-4A's selections for another 5 weeks.  :)
i was always under the impression all district picks were made when the final teams representing the district got eliminated , then the coaches would get together the following week and make the picks , again im going off of what i was told years ago , i know things have changed .

Yes I thought that is how it works also....and a coach cannot vote or nominate his players correct?

Only Indian slam dunk is Kaleb Clark. Rose will probably get 1st WR, but being a JR he may end up 2nd. Lots a Bulldogs and Pierats will fill out the team. Montana is my league MVP. Off MVP may be Hopkins. Def MVP will be someone from Ned. Several good choices.
Hopkins or Sezar. I actually have Sezar winning offensive MVP.

Sezar should win it. Hopkins is going to be on 1st team(hopefully). But a ton of Bulldogs and Pirates will fill out the teams.

Mitchell and LCM's should be the front runners, Carson is right behind them though.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
