Deweyville Pirates

Recommended Posts

    Being a 2A DivII school,Deweyville doesn't get much attention.
In the past ,many times they have depended on one or two players
to carry the load. Not so this year.QB's Cody Dupuy& Brendon Waldrep,
RB's Ryan Collins,Joey Greer,Colby Hryhorchuck,& Brandon Gary are a
very talented group.Daniel Brinson & Trey Bussell are excellent recei-
vers.Bryson Davis,T.J.Johnson & Daniel anchor a solid defense.So,if
you hear a lot of noise coming out of south Newton county, it's Coach
Babin & his group of rowdy Pirates.I know I left somebody out and I
apologize for that.Good Luck against Corrigan-Camden this week!!

These Talented young men have been playing together sence they were 5 and 6 years old in flag football. They know how to win and they are hungry this year, but it took coach Babin coming in and putting each and every one of them where they need to be for our team to be successful, and coach babin is doing A great job. Deweyville is in A very tough district and that is the wins that count, so this weeks Game is A huge game for the Pirates. My Opinion The Pirates will go undefeated and Roll into the Playoffs.

CC is always tuff. They usually get better every game and end up in the playoffs every year! Containment is always the issue when you play them. I haven't seen them this year but they always have a back or two with good speed. This should be a good game and should be for one of the top spots in this district. Before we played D-ville this year I was really not looking forward to the match up. There was alot of dirty play last year that got in the way of how yall performed. This year however, there was no comparison in the team attitude and mentality! I wish you guys the best of luck going into district! Buckle up, keep your heads up, this one will definitely be a test!

Thks Jesse and much respect to the Wolves, we will come check ya'll out in the playoffs thats for sure.  Spot on assessment of CC.  Throw the pre-district results out the window this team is built for District and playoffs they are yearly playoff participants and usually fight till the last whistle.  The Pirates are coming together at the right time, mostly injury free and learning the new offense/defense systems Coach Babin has brought along with Discipline and a winning attitude.  The difference from this year to last is we believe we can compete with the CC's and NW's of this District.  Expectations are high but results are won on the field and the players have to make the plays. This will be a VERY physical game and some of the younger players on the team that have not been involved in a game like this will have to step up.  Good luck to the Pirates, toughness both mentally and physically is a requirement from here on out through District play. Take it 1 game at a time and handle your business, respect all but fear none.

That was what I was getting at. The Jr class has won all their games with a variety of different coaches. They will win regardless of who the coach is, they are talented and winners. They will make the coaches look good.

Even in middle school, we (the junior class) only lost 1 game in 2 years. Freshman year, we only lost to CC and New Waverly. New Waverly being our first ever district loss playin for the school.

    • I wish I was as “smart” as you, so that I would know everyone’s views, as you think you do.
    • Heading into the summer and before two a days get going… what are some concerns or positives about your team heading into next season? I’d like to hear from some H-F people because according to some they are the district favorites heading into the season. I’m just trying to pass some time at least until we get our DCTF magazines lol For Bellville my concern is filling some holes on defense… specifically at LB,S, and DT… bright spots ? Basically the entire offensive line returns that paved the way for 3 RBs to rush for more than 1600 yards a  on the season (2 of those RBs will return as well). With all that said Bellville should still be a region favorite this upcoming season.
    • That’s not a choice, it’s the same thing and equally dangerous.    I’ve literally heard (with my own listening ears) the R County Chairman boast in a speech that “the only time I’ve ever voted for a Democrat was when I voted for Hillary in the Democrat primary! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!” You’ll never guess who is tweeting all over the place about how we need closed primaries this week.  Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.  Escalation of force.  These are concepts that you completely understand and teach.  Whatever we do today, we’ll pay for tomorrow. Impeach a President over something stupid? They’ll impeach yours twice.  Promise to lock up your political rival if you get elected? You can’t cry over somebody else doing it to you… even if you were just blowing a little smoke for the morons.   The old days of “don’t throw rocks if you live in glass houses” has now become “I’m pretty sure I’ve got more rocks than they do.” The frightening thing is that Ds only do it to Rs. Rs do it to Ds and other Rs alike without hesitation.
    • Definitely does NOT sound like a fit for PN-G.
    • No offense, but both sides do it.  The Rs in Texas want to do away with decades of precedent and demand that Dems are no longer given chair positions on any committees in the Tx House. It sounds reasonable enough, until you arrive at a point when the Ds enjoy a single seat majority in the house, select the most leftist speaker of all times, and the refuse to give Rs any say in the legislative process by refusing to give them any committee chairs.     Experience has shown me that any time a party seeks to consolidate power in a legislative body, it backfires.    What I don’t like is a world where we cheer for Manchin for doing his own thing, but also re-elect guys like Paxton and Patrick when they make threats to R Legislators if they don’t do exactly what the Radical Right demands. Our Rep here in Hardin County lost his spot for voting against private school vouchers-his wife is a teacher. He also voted his conscience on the Paxton impeachment.  It cost him his seat…. Not because of the will of the voters in his district, but because if millions of outside dollars pumped into the race from outside the district and even an endorsement of his unknown challenger by Donald Trump himself.    Why do people like you applaud Manchin for being his own man and then vote against Phelan for doing the same thing?
