Back in those days wasn't there 30,000 (+/- a few) more population in Beaumont than there is now?

Dr. Thomas needs not be the President of Lamar! I don't he has experience teaching college nor being the administrator of higher education! We need some who is well qualified and has experience as a administer of higher education! Hiring Dr.Thomas would be a bad choice in my opinion!  When Dr. Simmons was hired as President, he had experience of being a professor, band director, and dean, all at LU! We want someone like that! Don't y'all agree?

Thomas has a lot of support in Beaumont, but I don't think it extends to the Lamar University Selection Committee nor to the Board of Regents.  Except for one - Chargois is on the Selections Committee,  What the hell is that about?  Good golly the politics in Jefferson County.  Remember the Sheriff and the brown paper bags full of money that he kept, of course; they were just laying in the front seat of his car.  He didn't know what they were or where they came from.  And Walker
has been re-approved as the electrical contractor for the BISD.  Like I said before - the politics is Jefferson County.  Geeez!

If you vote for either Obama or Romney then you're not voting for the right people.  These two guys are very similar on most of the issues:

Crony Capitalism?  Check
Big Deficits? Check
Big Wars? Check
Drone attacks on foreign countries? Check
Government involvement in healthcare? Check
Continuing the War on Drugs? Check
Eroding Civil Liberties? Check

I'm telling everyone! In November, get out there and vote and show a great example of being a responsible citizen toward younger generations! If you have not yet registered to vote, please do so, NOW! This is your country! Don't make any excuses! Register to vote and when it's time, cast your ballot and encourage everyone to do the same, too!

      Chester, a small town in NE Tyler County.  A town that is seeing growth with the addition of a national chain store and a new school being built.  If you travel 287 toward Dallas from the Golden Triangle you have probably passed through Chester.  Things tend to stay pretty consistent and it is your typical small town.   A trip to state is the buzz around town, and the talk before church services begin on Sunday.  This year’s graduating class will number 11.  We don’t have a radio station that covers the Yellowjackets.  We are never a lead story on any of the news stations that broadcast to our community. With all that said, there is a closeness and sense of pride in our community.  Every community rallies behind their kids as they progress into the playoffs.  We are proud of our boys as they have represented our community well and with class.
