I don't know what the eighth grade team did, but the seventh grade beat St. Annes eighth grade "B" team 30-0 this afternoon.

St. Anne B team is 6th and 7th grade.  The St. Anne A team is made up of 6th - 8th grade,  some boys play both.  Central played well and are well coached.  The cheap shot on the punter was on a kid that just turned 12

LOL,.  I  clarified incorrect information from one of the proud fans who boasted about the 7th grade beating the 8th grade B team, a team that doesnt exist at St. Anne.    I guess you missed the part about Central playing well and being well coached.  Central won fair and square and have a good team.

You don't know me. I was not boasting. I went to watch a game being played by children. I dont even care about wins or losses in that age group. There is too much stress in that. I only care that  the children have fun and don't get hurt. You dont even know what team I was there to see. I only stated what was on the scoreboard at the end of the game. I did not intend to hurt your or anyone else's feelings about children playing a game. Also I did not know about the team's structure. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

[/quote]The player was flagged and asked to sit out the rest of the game. Coaches counseled the kid and I am sure he understands fully what he needs to do in the future. Both tems played well please do not make that one incident of poor judgement take away from the sport that kids play for fun.

nice way of putting it, but  the player was ejected from the game by the official for a flagrant personal foul for taking a cheap shot at the punter.  We know that your coaches don't promote or coach these tactics, but it was what it was.  I hate it for both kids that the incident occured.  You have a good team and they are aggressive players and it showed on the field. Good luck, I think your kids will do well this season!

  • 2 weeks later...
Central had a good team this year St Annes lost a great class last year . At the end of the day the speed of central skill positions killed us. The kid that touch a cheap on the punter 40yds away after the whistle while the punter was walking to the sidelines i dont know what to say about that. Everyone in Southeast Texas knows St Annes will play anybody anywhere and we have beat great teams and we take our losses but we do it with class. With that being said being up 30-0 right before halftime and calling a timeout to score again is absolutely ridiculous. Its great Central finally beat St Annes yalls team is very talented but act like you have been there before.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
