There is a possibility that my wife (Cheryl), our youngest daughter (Callie age 11) and I will be relocating to the Beaumont/Pt. Arthur/Mid-County area later this year from Columbus, Ohio. Callie is a softball player.  She currently plays on the 11U Ohio Classics traveling fastpitch softball team  (http://ohioclassics.com/classic.html).  This is her 2nd year to be with the Classics.  She played on last year's 10U team.  Previously, she played with the Heart of Ohio (Fear Factor 10U team) and the Lady Lasers 8U team.

Callie has been playing fastpitch travel softball since she was 7.  She also began taking hitting and pitching lessons on a regular basis since that time as well.  Callie is one of three pitchers on the 11U Classics.  She pitched extensively last year on the 10U Team including at a National Softball Tournament in Chattanooga, Tennessee this past August.  This is her first year pitching with the 12 inch ball from 40 feet.  She seems to have made the transition well, but she's not yet pitched a full season so we'll just have to wait and see.

In Fall 2011, Callie's hitting coach turned her around so she is hitting mostly from the left hand side now.  Callie is learning to slap hit/bunt as well, but it is still a work in progress.  She has good speed so this should help with her on-base-percentage.  Callie also plays center field and fist base for the Classics.

At this time, we are not exactly sure when we'll move.  It could be in June, August or December 2012.  A lot will depend on Callie's school, her current softball schedule (they play until late July/early August) and my work (job) transition timeline.

Hopefully, we'll have an opportunity to talk further about Callie and her interest in playing on a traveling fastpitch girls softball team in the Beaumont/Pt. Arthur/Mid-County region.  I also assist with Callie's softball team, keep the books, etc.  I would be interested in being an assistance coach with her new team.

It looks like we will be relocating to the South East Texas region (Beaumont/Pt. Arthur/Orange) the week of June 18th.  Our daughter Callie (March 2000) pitches for an 11U Team in central Ohio.  She also plays 1st base and center field.  I (chester) help out with the team as well.  We'll be looking for a girls travel softball team she can join that needs a pitcher and is looking for another assistant coach.  We can be reached at [email protected] as well.

If you Call coach Don at 409-781-2579 Beaumont Blast in my opinon is A very sound 12u team they compete at the highest level of any 12u team in this area

to my knowledge beaumont Blast will have A 14U 99 team, A 16U and A 18U team BUT if you callCoach DON at 409-781-2579 he can give more INFO.
