  1. Good luck!  Hope you have a great season.
  2. Hope tryouts went well. Good luck with the Fall season!  Great organization and coaches!
  3. Great job!  Hope you have a great Fall season.  Keep us posted on your progress.
  4. Thank you to all the girls and parents that came out to the Houston Power - Beaumont tryouts yesterday (Sunday) in Port Neches.  It was a great afternoon of softball.
  5. There are a lot of great quality programs/organizations in the area.  It seems the level of play has risen significantly over the last several years with more teams opting for coaches who have played and/or coached at the high school and college level.  The girls seem to be working out more and more on their conditioning and working hard in the "off-season" to improve their individual skills.
  6. Looks like there are a lot of tryouts this weekend and next.  Good luck to all the girls trying out for the various travel select fastpitch softball teams in the area.  Play hard!
  7. Keep up the work.  I was over in Jasper yesterday for Arthur Miller's memorial service at the Methodist Church.  Also saw my parents.  They live on crockett street.  My youngest daughter Callie plays for Houston Power - Beaumont. She had been with the Houston Power 14U (Katy/Missouri City) Team, but we were driving over 100 miles one way just for practice twice a week.  The Beaumont Team is much closer about 3 miles from the house.  We live in Port Neches.  You can follow the team at www.facebook.com/houstonpower1.
  8. I assume most of the girls go play in Lufkin, Beaumont and/or Houston.
  9. Good group of kids!  Great training facility on Major Drive. Callie has taken pitching lessons their in the past.
  10. Great organization and leadership in the community.  Keep up the good work!
  11. Derek Is there also a 14U/16U travel select team that is in Jasper as well?    Thanks Chester
  12. Houston Power - Beaumont Softball Tryout Announcement for 2017 and 2018 High School graduates! Announcing Houston Power - Beaumont Softball Tryouts for 2017 and 2018 high school graduates!! The vision of HOUSTON POWER is to provide opportunities for female scholar athletes who have a desire to play softball at the collegiate level. We aspire to become known as a nationally recognized girls fastpitch softball organization which promotes female athletes, physically trained and mentally conditioned to enter the collegiate softball arena as a means of obtaining a college education. The coaching staff provides players the skill level and a greater knowledge of the game, allowing them to market themselves to college coaches. The Houston Power – Beaumont players, coaches, and families are all working together towards teaching young athletes the value of success through the spirit and performance of competition; building a highly competitive softball team whose players exhibit the effectiveness of " teamwork " through good attitude, effort, and hustle; providing a unique, positive atmosphere for student athletes to develop their skills while building confidence, self-esteem, and mental toughness; and stressing the importance of academic achievement as it relates to competitive sports and to success in future endeavors in life. Here is the date, time and location for the tryout: Sunday August 10, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 PM **Tryouts will be held at the Port Neches Groves High School Softball Field (the field is located off of Merriman adjacent to the PNG High School)** If you need any additional information about tryouts or Houston Power – Beaumont please do not hesitate to contact Head Coach Courtney Rhodus at (859) 339 – 2414 or [email protected]. 13. Congratulations Sun Devils 14U. Job well done!
  14. We just need to make sure there are no delays in the ground breaking and that construction starts on time to have the facility "operational" for 2015 season. I know that there is also concerns about where the Lady Cardinals will play games/practice for Fall 2014 as well.
  15. Great team. Good girls and coaching as well.
