Port Arthur Memorial High and Beaumont Ozen took to the road yesterday (Saturday) to play in the Joe Price Fall Basketball Tournament in Houston. Ozen took on 5-A powerhouses North Shore and last year state finalist FT. Bend Hightower, led by future McDonald All-American Danuel House. Ozen went 2-1, losing only to North Shore and garnishing wins against Hightower and Milby High from Houston. I'm not sure how Memorial finished. Maybe someone from Memorial could give a recap.
Okay CATMAN,  on home computer now. I can "type" freely now. There was  a reason D. Green took over. He has a good team and will make noise this year. ;)

Whenever Dove's team(s) play against someone, they are 'all-world'. When an opposing team plays someone (I.e. McFlight, HJ) and beats them, Dove claims his 7th grade squads can beat them too! Funny how his mind works!  8)

The McFlight team had 2 PA kids on it, plus 3 Seniors who graduated last year. This years Ned team will have one senior start, one Soph, and 3 JRs. Two completely different teams. Is Ned (not McFlight) goiing to the Yates tourney? If so, when is it?

The graduated kids can no longer participate. When Ned went to Houston last weekend, it was only kids still in HS, and they still competed. They will prob start slow, but will be tough to beat by years end. These Houston tourneys will get them ready for sure.

The McFlight team from this past summer was heavy on graduated seniors, one soph, and 4-5 Juniors.

If they go to the JY tourney, it will be the same team they brought to Pearland last
weekend. Will be good experience/exposure for them regardless of how many games they win/lose. These Juniors have only lost 3-4 games since 7th grade, so they don't like the idea of losing. Having a winning mentality will win them some close games this season.

Yeah true, but I wish yall would talk to English and change up his game plan. I told him a couple of years ago keep doing what he's doing, and at that time it was fine. But he really needs to take a new direction & focus on taking his guys to Huntington  ;D or Spurger to play. I hope there are no Spurger reps on here ;D

Ah CATMAN, you should see one of the write-ups from a Houston sports writer on North Shore. He agrees with me :P
My understanding is that  Hightower was missing one transfer student (football) who is expected to start this year for them. I have a friend who was with me that day and his son plays for Highrower. Ozen had two starters from last year  missing and two other varsity players.  Hightower had their All-American there ;)
