Kville's pregame meal. Thank you Frank!

Recommended Posts

A lot of athletes have pregame traditions or rituals that they do not break. I just heard that someone is flying the 'Cats in their traditional meal by private plane. How about that for curb service! Anyone from this area knows where its coming from.  Does it make a difference? It does not matter what I think if it makes the boys feel ready more power to 'em.

Thank you to Frank George for all that he does for the team and for the community.

Someone might want to chek out Katy and their team meal a few yeras back and the UIL ruling that took them from a state championship game.  Keep everything on the up and up with the UIL and go win you a state championship!!!

Here's a link to the Katy fiasco.

If it is over $5 and the athletes are not paying for this meal, it is my understanding that they are in violation of the UIL.

Section 441: VALUABLE CONSIDERATION SCHOOL TEAMS AND ATHLETES MAY ACCEPT:

1. Pre-season. School athletic teams may be given no more than one pre-season meal, per sport, per school year such as a fish fry, ice cream supper, etc. provided it is approved by the school and given by a nonprofit organization, usually the booster club, before the team plays in its first contest. It may be given after a scrimmage.

2. Post-season. School athletic teams are limited to no more than one post-season meal or banquet per sport, per school year, and it must be given by a nonprofit organization and approved by the school. Banquet favors or gifts are considered valuable consideration and are a violation if they are given to a student athlete at any time.

3. Other. School athletic teams and athletes may be invited to and may attend functions where free admission is offered or where refreshments and/or meals are served, provided all students from that high school are invited to attend for the same fee and on the same basis as the athletes or the athletic team. Athletes or athletic teams may be recognized at these functions but may not accept anything that is not given to all other students.

Just as I have posted on the other thread about this topic: This meal is being billed and paid for by the district just as every other meal that we have served them. It is not about the superstitions or rituals of the team, it is about motivation, and showing our boys that we are behind them.

BTW- looks like the weather is not going to cooperate for flying so we are going to plan B  "The Ground Game"

Pretty sure that's illegal, you might not want to post that  ???

Nope. Not illegal. Athletic departments can provide meals for thier athletes. Boosters can not. How it gets delivered is not revelant.

    • We had the same type of rules when Coach Stone was at PNG.
    • I’m curious to see if this will happen next season .
