REGIONAL ROUND OF PLAYOFFS
Toups Graphics bats 500 this week. Dayton and Pearland Dawson were the predicted winners, while Central and Angleton fell short of victory. There are now eight teams 4A teams left in the whole state in each division. Congratulations to Dayton, Brenham, Pearland Dawson, and Friendswood for being the Region III quarterfinalists.

The Bronco offense was sytmied in the first half and the Bronco defense played a lax first quarter resulting in a 16 to 7 halftime lead for the Rice Birds. Then the second half started and the real ALWAYS BELIEVING Broncos showed up to play. The Broncos shut down the Rice Birds in the second half allowing less than 100 yards of offense and less than 5 first downs. While the Rice Birds couldn't move the ball the Dayton offense began to wear out the Rice Birds resulting in ten fourth quarter come from behind points. Freshmen kicker Carranco comes through in the clutch and connects on a field goal to put the Broncos up to stay. For the third straight year the Broncos reach the quarter-finals.

The Toups Graphics powers were backwards, Angleton does go out to a big lead, then has a huge lactic acid buildup in the 4th quarter and watches Brenham go into the lead for good. Brenham has easily won the biggest two games in Region III, knocking out #5 state ranked PN-G then #1 area ranked Angleton. Now can they pull of the hat trick and take out two time defending Region III champs Dayton?

#1 Dayton - Once again Dayton reigns supreme east of Houston. Coach Stewart has built a power house football program and once again, the freshmen and sophomores get an extra half football season of practice during the playoffs. With a dominating freshmen team that devoured every opponent it faced, the future looks bright for many years to come in Bronco land.
