Year of the Rebels

Well this is still a bit early since baseball and softball are still in the heart of their district seasons, but it is sure looking like the 2008-2009 athletic year in 1A is the "Year of the Rebels"

The girls shared the volleyball crown, were undefeated in basketball and are looking good in softball. The guys took care in football and are undefeated in baseball, they even made some noise in basketball before bowing out late in district.

The 2009 senior class at Evadale will be long remembered for their contributions to the athletic tradition of Evadale. In a school that boosts a couple of state championship monuments it will always be a difficult comparison as the very top will always be in peoples minds, but this years graduates have done very well to carry on the traditions of those state teams and all that have come before and after those great teams.

The senior girls have had an incredible run with many district championships and trips to the playoffs to their credit. The senior guys have been to the playoffs in football and baseball for three years.

To all the 2009 Rebel seniors thanks for show! Know that the tradition will continue and that you had a hand in making 2008-2009 "The year of the Rebels!"
