Liberty Invitational Meet 10/11/08

I ran the new course today..

Its moved from the City Park this year due to Hurricane Ike, but should be a good meet still. Ive looked at a list of schools coming and the big school division should be interesting.

Yeah, I got a comment.  Does that CC coach at Liberty have a clue what he is doing?

The only problem I saw is that the course had some overlap and there were runners that had were sent around the final 1/2 mile loop again in the Middle School race in both girls and boys race.  They fixed some of the boys placing but I know of at least one girl that missed out on a medal because of it.

There was no overlap. At all. Im not sure what your talking about with that. But nobody was sent anywhere wrong. If they would have followed the arrows that were clearly in place every 5 yards they wouldnt have got lost. And what was wrong with the course? I liked it for the most part..

What he is referring to is the fact that it was a 1.5 mile course, and for the girls and middle school runners who ran 2 miles some of the faster ones were lapping the ones at the end.  When this happened some of the runners only ran 1.5 miles and ran to the finish line instead of completing the final 800 loop.  Some of the parents came up to me and told me, and unless they had hard evidence I didnt say anything.  So you are right for the 3 mile races there was no problem, but not for the 2 mile races.
