unlv' date=' Why are the crowds at Lamar Basketball games so low? Another example of southeast Texas people not going to support teams.[/quote']

The fan support is up since coach Tubbs return. That is a start. Coach Tubbs wasn't able to put an exciting team on the floor. Coach Roc team wont get pushed around by smaller teams like last year. I think LU should repeat what the drillers did, free night to get the fans in. I would free night all the Non-DI schools at home including exhibition.

there's not enough cohesion in our community to strongly support a lamar football team. generally speaking, lamar is a state school; a home kind of place that one can afford. in the past they have had a large foreign student base and older students. the older students may lack the school spirit of young adults. the foreign students barely know football american style. in the past, there were complaints that football received all the support and other sports had no chance. there seems to be a lack of economy to strongly support many of the entertainment industry's attractions. look at ford park, both music and hockey. i'm not saying it can't happen. there just seems to be more attractions competing with local football today than in the past.

    • You ever read a dictionary? Words can have multiple meanings depending on context. They can be nouns, verbs, or adjectives depending on how they’re used. Believe what you will. We all do that, anyway.
    • I don't believe in changing the definition of a word because a group does not like it. That makes me laugh honestly.....especially the "code word" comments.....because I'm white as they come (although I have A LOT of cajun blood)....and no one, not one person has gave me the "code word" handbook of racist phrases and words. I had no idea that when a person uses the OK hand gesture (and I grew up on the little rascals) it was racist until a black person posted about it.......common sense would be that white people signally to other white people would both know what the gesture means, not the people excluded.....
    • Where did I say semi-white? I said not white as rice, meaning I have a more Mediterranean skin tone as my paternal Grandfather was an immigrant. Greek. Supposedly a little Cherokee in there too. What you want to call me now?
    • I already have. Are you talking about a case that was dismissed?
    • Let’s see….that sounds like a euphemism for N-Lover. I’ve been called that too. You ARE a racist!
