Les Miles and his LSU football program are off to a unbelievable start to the 2009 recruiting year as Navasota, Texas athlete Dexter Pratt gave his verbal commitment Monday afternoon.

Pratt is LSU's ninth commitment and he is a big one at 6-foot-2, 220-pounds and is a member of the Rivals250.

"I just wanted to make the right decision and I thought LSU was the place I need to go," Pratt said. "The facilities set them apart from other schools."

LSU running backs coach Larry Porter is recruiting Pratt for the Tiger staff.

This past weekend, Pratt was on the LSU campus for an unofficial visit. Undoubtedly that visit sealed the deal for LSU.

As a junior, Pratt rushed for 2,054 yards on 218 carries with 20 touchdowns. He also showcased his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, snagging 12 passes for 365 yards and four scores.

Pratt chose LSU over scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Ole Miss and many others.
