Looks like Odessa Permian has been in the most of them with 4 so we can almost say that Odessa Permian had been in 1/4 of the top games in Texas history :shock:

Interesting list... I don't know what the criteria is to qualify as a "greatest moment," but seven of those games were state championship games. It makes you wonder why the other state championship games aren't on there, and how the three listed district games made the list when a bunch of other great ones didn't.

That's the one I'm remembering. I read some of it at Barnes and Noble, and it didn't take me long to decide that book was not worth the paper it was printed on.

I think Tom Halliburton from the Port Arthur News chose the Golden Triangle games and David Barron of the Houston Chronicle picked the Greater Houston games.

You're right, which is probably why 7 of the "greatest moments" in GT history revolve around south and mid-Jefferson County teams... :roll:
