Hype (noun & verb):

  1. Noun – Excitement/attention (often exaggerated)

    • Intense publicity or buzz around something, usually making it seem more amazing or important than it really is.

    • “There was a lot of hype around that new movie, but it was just okay.”

  2. Verb – To promote or exaggerate

    • To heavily promote something, especially in a way that exaggerates its good qualities.

    • “They really hyped that product in the SETX Sports thread.”

  3. Slang use

    • Sometimes used to mean “exciting” or “awesome.”

    • “That game was so hype!” = That game was really exciting.
