ETEXAG Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago I think they will get better as season goes but all 4 linemen and 2 linebackers graduated. Honestly they were much better in the second half. Trinity had a very big o line. Much bigger than newtons. Big lines will be this teams kryptonite. I think versus Newton and deeper in playoffs woodville will need to experiment a bit with some larger body packages. Maybe let a lineman or two play a series here or there on defense. Trinity was solid on O. QB was good and a legit dual threat. Newton is so one dimensional, albeit, the best at that one dimension. with that said. Woodville offense is looking great. The line is getting better each week and Babin keeps elevating his game. Nice to Clawson looks like he knows how to continuously add wrinkles and adjust. He’s got several more games to tune this up even more. But offense will have to keep putting up points and will have very small margins for error in some games. Quote

The guy who has consistently been the best edge guy this year didn't play at all first half and played only a couple snaps second half. Another talented sophmore disappeared again after missing the first 2 games and playing limited snaps the last 2. I seen one of the edge guys that were out there have a chance to get a sack but instead chose to cut back inside. Looked like he was just being a robot and doing what he was taught to do. It's hard to look at Quote

It's hard to look at Hate to see kids do what they were taught. That is a sign of poor coaching. Hopefully WV will get a new coach before it is too late. If only the WV coach would consult with the folks in the stands who watch pewee football, they would know what to do. Quote

It's hard to look at lol I can only imagine how hard it is to look at. It's absolutely gut wrenching to listen to on the live stream. Maybe the defensive coordinator needs to throw all assignments out the window, tell them to line up, see kid with ball and tackle kid with ball. Stop overthinking it! Setx fan 1 Quote

Were you the main star in the smurfs movie? Or maybe it was the trolls series...Yep, definitely the trolls. I believe there's a scene in the movie that has your character acting so passive aggressive that it makes the movie goers sick to their stomach. Would you be kind enough to give the movie goers some pepto bismol or tums? Quote

Yea it's definitely poor coaching if you teach defensive players to be robots. Defense is reactive and instinctive. Quote

Newton will be Newton regardless and other teams know it and have known it for decades now. Not a Newton apologist but they line up and tell their opponents to stop us. When you have dogs like they typically have, who cares what plays they're running.. You're not going to "Out Dog" them! Quote

Probably had them out there doing "robot" drills. Have you ever shared your knowledge with the current coach? He might just need to be enlightened. His time with Aledo probably messed him up. Aledo is famous for "robot" play on defense. WV might have a real shot if they could implement some of your innovation. Quote

No reason anyone should have to explain these simple concepts to them. It's probably more of them just being stuck on certain ideals then actually not knowing better. And him being an assistant running backs coach at Aledo has nothing to do with him being a HC at Woodville. Two different jobs and 2 different programs Quote
