It realy depends.  If it is a normal power in Hoops, then it doesn't matter.  Usually in this situation, the basketball athletes don't play football and will be ready for the season opener.  An example of this would be a Kingwood or Ozen.  Then there ar e the ones that need their football athletes as well as their basketball only guys.  Central has been like this for the past few years.  This area normaly isn't realy effected that much by it, seeing that not many teams will be making a deep playoff run in football.

I think they do, and maybe even more than a month. For example Woden in 2A has a tradition of showing up in Tyler at the regional tournament.
