Mom accused of attacking baseball coach

PRINCETON, La. (AP) -- A woman has been arrested for attacking a coach after finding out her daughter had not made the Little League all-star team, sheriff's deputies said.

Sherry Savage, 30, allegedly grabbed a baseball bat and started toward the female coach.

Someone snatched the bat away, but Savage is still accused of slapping coach Gina O'Neal in the face before the two wound up in a wrestling match, deputies said.

Deputies said the fight happened shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Princeton Little League field in eastern Bossier Parish.

Savage was booked with disturbing the peace, simple battery and aggravated assault. She was later released on bond.

I can only imagine with all of the politicing that goes on. Somebody is going to eventually let it get to them.

I bet it was a situation that flared up because the wife found out about the girlfriend. Baseball was just in the way.
