River Bowl Deweyville hosting Evadale...thoughts?

Deweyville lost last year in a close game 16-13 due to a busted coverage. With Evadale graduating their star QB and RB and Deweyville returning basically all of their offensive and most of their defensive starters, I believe Deweyville will run away with this one, especially coming off a big win over the Kountze Lions. Deweyville has a strong defense in led by a couple seniors, #15, #33 and #5 who should have no problem containing the Evadale offense. #15 has played outstanding at the outside backer position putting up big games the past few weeks and #5 has been known for his coverage and should easily shut down whatever Evadale throws at them. GL to both teams though!

I would say Kountze was a big win...we played up a division, had to overcome several mistakes and trailing 13-8 at the Half... Deweyville only has 3 kids over 200lbs....but we have a lot of speed and are very physical. We've faced some extremely talented RB's so far in Joaquin, Colmesnil and Kountze. I look for the Pirates to come out on top in this one.

The boy from Evadale is a ton better than any colmesneil or kountze back. He is a stud. The great thing about the slot t is when it is ran correctly(and Prouse knows what he is doing) it keeps the ball out of the opposing teams hands. 18-19 play drives that eat up the clock will be Deweyvilles best friend.

Kountze won one game last year. Got waxed by Warren the last game and last year they had better backs. The running back for evadale would play at silsbee and start at lumberton. No one on the previous three teams have been close to that. Up a division doesn’t matter. What does matter is that deweyville knows they can compete and be in this game. They are tough kids. That goes a long way in small school ball. Matter of least mistakes and who has the ball last.

I just don't see it panning out like that, Evadale graduated a far better runningback last year and Deweyville held them to only 16 points last year. Evadale is a very well coached team, and I've seen both teams play. Deweyville is far more aggressive on both sides of the ball. I got Red winning by atleast 2 scores.

I would argue that the RB last year is better than the Farr kid this year. That dude can move!

The Evadale Back is really good trust me. Great kid and a great family that I’m friends with. But, the RB from Kountze is a very good back. Him and Farr went to the same rivals camp this summer ( I was there with both of them ). The Kountze RB ran a 4.62 (laser time) and Far ran a high 4.7 or low 4.8 (Laser time). Adams from Kountze benches 300 and squats well over 400. Trust me when I tell you, Farr is not a ton better than Adams. He has started since a freshman in Kountze in the backfield During Grayland Arnold’s Sr year. Farr will be tough to contain for Deweyville because of the offense they run. Should be a good game though.

I don't recall anyone saying we were awesome....We dress 23 kids, out of which only 3 weigh over 200lbs...And please don't discard the talent of the Kountze running back due to their record...he's a stud. You have offensive weapons, Congratulations to the kids and your school. Y'all must've been busy giving Nortland Christian the business while we played up a division.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
