District Summary:

Week 5 of district play showed that the Buna Cougars, despite a loss to a solid Woodville team, are one of the top teams in this district. They "upset" Coldspring, 40-35. Woodville annihilated Kountze, 66-28, although Kountze showed alot of potential and young athletes. Trinity also handled Warren, 33-0.

Week 6 should be another boring week, as the top 3 match up with the bottom 3, aside from district leader Woodville, who has a BYE. Buna should handle Warren very easily, as should Kirbyville defeat Trinity soundly. Coldspring is obviously the better of the two teams in their match with Kountze, but Kountze could surprise a couple. I don't expect them to win, but they could make it interesting for awhile.

District Standings:

1. Woodville (8-1)(5-0)
2. Buna (5-3)(3-1)
3. Coldspring-Oakhurst (3-4)(3-1)
4. Kirbyville (5-3)(2-2)
5. Trinity (3-6)(2-3)
6. Kountze  (2-7)(0-4)
7. Warren (1-7)(0-4)

Game of the Week:

Kvl @ Trinity should be the game of the weak!  Trinity at home can be tough!!!

Trinity has the athletes to be tough, but being unprepared, undisciplined, and penalty heavy are not going to help them be successful. Kirbyville wins this one,  won't be close unless the Wildcats are looking ahead a week.

We're not looking ahead. We need to take control and win BOTH of these last 2 games in order to go into the playoffs in good shape. I think we'll take this one fairly easily, but we need to stay focused.

    • No chance in hell that this pos is found guilty.
    • After his silly conviction, President Trump has raised over 200 Million dollars!  The people are seeing through it!  Excellent!
    • Let’s see if joe biden’s words about no one is above the law, made after the rigged trial of President Trump, rings true with his po💩son.  Hopefully, but I’m not going to hold my breath, they put the sorry sob in prison.
    • I liked his no bull crap attitude. He was a man of very few words. Extremely strong and freaky athletic!!! As close as possible to being the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. I hope his family finds peace without him!!! RIP #73
    • Chester, a small town in NE Tyler County.  A town that is seeing growth with the addition of a national chain store and a new school being built.  If you travel 287 toward Dallas from the Golden Triangle you have probably passed through Chester.  Things tend to stay pretty consistent and it is your typical small town.   A trip to state is the buzz around town, and the talk before church services begin on Sunday.  This year’s graduating class will number 11.  We don’t have a radio station that covers the Yellowjackets.  We are never a lead story on any of the news stations that broadcast to our community. With all that said, there is a closeness and sense of pride in our community.  Every community rallies behind their kids as they progress into the playoffs.  We are proud of our boys as they have represented our community well and with class. We invite you to follow our boys as they go to state.  We welcome the greater SETX communities as honorary Yellowjackets.  Tune in, watch live or come to Round Rock personally and join us in supporting the Chester Yellowjackets.  Go ‘Jackets!!! ⚾️💜💛⚾️🟣🟡⚾️💜💛⚾️
